The Colorado Sportbike Club

This time the cops were looking for us.

The conversation went something like this:

Cop #1:We got a report of some motorcycles comin' offa' Dallas Pass at a high rate of speed.
Joe (lying):Well it's a nice day, there's a lot of motorcycles out there.
Cop #1:Ya, but yours are the only ones I've seen in the last 4 hours.
Bob (under his breath):What's your definition of a "high rate of speed"?
Cop #2:Let me see if I can guess which bike belongs to each of you - you (pointing at Will, who is wearing his red, white & black Honda gear) ride the Honda...
Joe (under his breath):Which Honda? The Blackbird's a Honda too!
Cop #2:You (pointing at Joe) look like a ZX-11 kind of guy...
Joe shakes his head.
Cop #2:Well then the ZX-11 must be yours (to Paul)
Paul smiles & shakes his head. The cop gives up.

They ran our licenses & registrations, but (unfortunately for them) they came up clean.
It turns out that almost all the cops in Ridgeway ride sportbikes. The one I was talking to used to own a heavily modified ZX-11 that he would drag-race. He currently owns a ZX-12R.

We didn't get any tickets, but they told us to watch our speed on the way up to Montrose - that was the longest 26 miles ever!

By the way, there were 2 other police cars that you can't see - one off to the right, and another behind the photographer.
