The Colorado Sportbike Club

History

The Colorado Sportbike Club was formed in the early spring of 2000 by Paul Anderson & John Dietrich. We decided to start a club to meet other people with an interest in motorcycles.

We gave it the name "Colorado Sportbike Club" to meet others interested in the growing popularity of Sportbikes, however we do not discriminate against any type of motorcycle, so even Harley's to Goldwings are more than welcome. We just like to get together, ride, and have a good time. It was formed with the philosophy of No Dues, No Meetings... just riding, having fun, and meeting other people who appreciate motorcycles.

In August of 2001, co-founter and President of the club, John Deitrich, moved to Virginia & handed over the reigns to Jeffrey Missal, a relative newcomer to the club, but someone who shares John's passion for riding. Before Jeff found out about our club, he formed his own club, Denvers Performance Bikes.

November 2001 update: When Jeff Missal took the reigns in August, his bike had just developed a mechanical problem (which ended up taking a long time to figure out & fix). In September, school started, and Jeff had previously been unaware that assignments would be handed out on Fridays, so much of his weekend would be dedicated to working on them (in case you didn't know, he moved to Denver specifically to go to Architectural school). As a result, Jeff hasn't been able to ride with us but once or twice since August, and in November 2001, he stepped down from his role as President (he will continue to attend rides when he can, but that might not be until school's out in the Spring). For now, the club will continue to be "run" by Spiderman (a.k.a. Webmaster Bob)
