Too cold?

Yea... so I have my bike neatly stored for the winter all wrapped and cuddly and what not. I just recently fired her up as i always do and noticed one of my mirrors is cracked right down the middle. My first thought was that perhaps one of the family accidentally bumped it or did something, but the bike is in such a place where nobody could (that and their all afraid of it to begin with). So Im thinking, is it possible this is weather related? I honestly have neve seen glass crack due to low temperatures, but given our recent crap weather.... eh? :cold:

If the glass somehow goes from hot to cold to hot to cold really fast it can do this. Also I noticed it can happen on older mirrors to but I really think it just happens.

Not sure of how to prevent it, but if you find a way let us know.

Happened to mine a year back. Didn't look like it was hit with a rock or snapped with a finger, so I blamed the weather.
