So, thinking it has been a couple month since we last went shooting, seems like it is time for another go around. Thinking the Shootist (Santa Fe and Dartmouth) on a Tuesday evening (6:30ish)...Maybe the 20th or 27th?
Who is in?

I MIGHT just be down for this.
Federal return is in already... if state comes in - I might actually have the money to buy some ammo this month for something wasteful like target shooting.
Besides... my office at work needs some updates wall hangings that freak out the other employees! :D

Anyone been to the Firing Line off Potomac in A-Town? I was planning on taking Je-neh-neh and a few friends on Monday night, 02/12. I hear Monday is ladies night (no range fee) and they have military discounts. Shot at Cherry Creek Gun Club and thought it was ok...too dark, though.

You'll have to let me know if that is true and maybe I will make the drive to A-town to shoot sometime. You should bring Jenene down to the shootist when we go :D

The Glock 18 would be a great CC weapon...don't know about concealing the 100rd drum, though. I've seen the 18 in slo-mo recorded on a hi-speed camera using the 30+ mag.

Hmm, we could be down for the Shootist. Christina needs to stretch out her new toy some more. For those that like to shoot .38 Spl plinking ammo, Walmart has a smoking deal. 100 rounds for $20.00, they are probably made in China; but they work. :boom:

None of these places have ventilation systems worth a shit.
The Shootist is the nastiest, grimiest place we've ever been to. However, they let you pull the trigger as fast as you can. The place was so nasty, we're pretty sure we'll never go back!!
We're thinking about joing the Aurora Gun Club. Outside, rifles, and two minutes away. Although, it's just punchin' holes in paper...

I still prefer Family Shooting Center at Cherry Creek. Pistols, rifles, trap, autotrap...all in one place and for one range fee. Only thing I hate is the target change every 30 minutes, but one of the RSOs told me they were going to instal adjustable target lines for the pistol range. In one day and for $11, I can get my Glock-CZ-Mossberg swerve-on!!!

It's been a while, but I thought they already had the cable system for targets on the pistol range.
I thought joining the gun club would be the best bang for the buck. Pay an annual fee and shoot anytime ya want. At $13 a pop, I would spend $1,000 at Cherry Creek!!

One time $50 fee and $150/ year. I figure it's worth it to not have to drive for two hours. Plus, they have work days where you can work off your annual membership fee. I think it would be great to have an itch to go shooting and in 5 minutes, I'm shooting! We'll still have to make trips to the mountains but, for the winter time, I think I'm gonna have to join.

Did you know that Tuesday's are Ladies day at the Shootist. I think it's 1/2 price for us curvasious females! I'm going tomorrow, 2/13. Got no boyfriend to shoot down, so I'm in search of a valentine!

You guys is into guns too? All the cool stuff eh?:sniper: I would love it if you did a road trip over here to Grand Junction for one of my IDPA matches. International Defensive Pistol Assoc. was started as a skill builder for the average "Joe/Jane" carrying concealed weapons and has taken off like wildfire. Check out their website idpa.com
I organize and run matches here in G.J. on the first sat of every month. The matches consist of useually 4 stages of good guy/bad guy scenerios, and it is on the clock. It is a blast!
I also teach basic and tactical pistol and personall protection classes once a month.
You all should come over for a shoot fest some weekend, my club has our own private range.
Check out our website actionpistolgroup.com or e mail me for more info.
Cheers

Probably only 15 minutes farther to hit the mountains for me. :banghead: So if you're a member, can you bring me with or what? If so maybe I could pitch in on your membership fees or something?

Hit me up...as of now, I have been shooting at pistol ranges with friends a handful of times (could count on my fingers if that gives an idea) and I wouldn't mind knowing or having the ability to do a little better.

$11 is the Military Discount. $6 w/the MD at Firing Line. They also have memberships, but It sounded like you paid for a member ship and paid a discounted range fee each time you came in. Does the Aurora GC let you shoot free everytime if you are a member? Unless I went more than a couple of times a month, I didn't see the savings.

Dean- BRILLIANT!!! Sounds like a plan to me.
Marauder- from checking their website it sounds like you get the combo to the lock as a member of AGC, so no charge each time you go :)
rlb- That is one helluva deal on 3 day course! I paid about $100 for a 6 hour CCW course which did not include any live fire.

Like I said before, Tuesdays are ladies day at the Shootist. I went on Tuesday, 2/13 and paid $8 to use my own ammo for as long as I wanted. Yes, its a concrete basement with dirty bathrooms, but target practice is dirty business anyway. I'll go on the 20th, but around 7 PM.
There's no time limit and you pay additional for how many cardboard targets you get. Regular price is $16, that includes guys on Tuesdays. But sometimes they do group rates and we just take up a few lanes, not one per person.
There was a group of about 7 or 8 guys there Tuesday doing special training and they took up the whole south side, which is 5 lanes.
I try to practice at least once a month, more if I can fit it in. Summer is easier because I have a friend with a membership at Clear Creek Gun Club.
The Grand Junction thing sounds cool. How much manuvaering do we need to do? I'm having surgery on my torn knee next week. Diving down on the ground to shoot at a target (like I do in paintball) won't work for me for awhile. :turtle:
