Sat Feb 10th, 2007, 01:20 PM
Not too long ago, Mental (CoSprings CSC'er) and I had a bit of a brainstorm. We came up with this idea of "North meeting South (http://www.cosportbikeclub.org/forums/showthread.php?p=134837#post134837)" and so we posted up an invite in both the Southern and Northern forums. I think there's a pretty good crowd that's gonna show up, but I thought "what the hey," why not invite everyone.

Here's the deal. We plan on meeting at Dave and Busters on South Colorado Blvd. and I-25 around 3pm on Sunday the 18th. There's lotsa fun stuff to do there if you've never been and there's also movie theaters. So, think about it and if ya wanna meet some really cool, maybe slightly flaky, or is it half-crazed?, yet ever so big-hearted people, then show up for a while and have some fun and drinks with us.

There's also talk about hitting up a laser tag place after a few drinks. So, let us know if you can show up and share in the merriment.

Some details:

OK.

I know I helped start this, and I apologize. My wife's little brother in coming through town before he joines the Navy and wants to go skiing. So I will be unable to attend, but I know some southies are coming and you should all go, if for no other reason than to put names to faces. That way you guys can come down for some of our rides, and vice versa when the weather improves

Ha...so, fine then. We'll just have fun without ya.:p Anyways, I think I've found me a fill-in "partner-in-crime". Summer rides will most definitely be the talk of the day.

I was thinking the bar:drink: But, there's two as far as I remember. One by the pool tables, the other in the back with all the games. How 'bout games?

Oh wait? I'm thinking maybe reserve a pool table or two? I dunno, but that'd be a good area to gather as well. Thoughts?

Ah, first Cath and Sully and now you've gone and done it...I feel all warm and friendly...nooooooooooo!!!!!!!!! I suppose I could always get hammered before I get there which would solve most of the $$ problem. Plus nothing like falling down on the way in to make a great impression, right, Cath? But wait I only *almost* fell last time we went out, saved it due to my cartoonlike ability to stay upright. ;)

Okay, I have moved back into a definite "maybe", lol. Oh and I will definitely be out riding Sunday (Saturday too with any luck) but no way am I riding down there as it will be too damn chilly for that long arse ride back home (yep, total wuss) plus it'd screw up my whole drinking beforehand idea.

We'll prob be deciding tonight/tomorrow..you want me to PM ya if we are going? Same with you, Frank? If we do go, it would be a lil later (sorry, Cath - call you later this afternoon) as we are riding that day as well and would need to "ungear" and grab the car.

Umm so, are people still meeting at D&B at 3pm (and laser-tagging each other in the ass before that) or has D&B been pushed back? We got tickets to box seats at the Mammoth game at 6pm on Sunday, so we'll swing by D&B before that if it's still goin down then.

Fri Feb 16th, 2007, 03:18 PM
Ok, so here's the thing. Mel really wants to play laser tag, which is fine by me, I'm flexible. That place is open until 6. I will be doing my best, though, to get my arse down to D&B before 3...not sure how much earlier, but will try. I want to see who would like to join Mel and myself and then we'll gather a group of people and leave D & B for a bit...maybe around 4-4:30'ish? We'll be lasering peeps in the arse until they close the place and then will head back to D & B for a few more drinks, or will "play it by ear" at that point. I think it will depend on my mode of transport more than anything else as far as what I'm gonna do after getting my arse whooped at laser tag.

At least, that's what I wanna do...plus I'd like to meet a few more CSC'ers from other parts of the front range anyways.:)

If you're going to play "Laser" tag @ the place off Hampden, you should get at the "Laser" tag place at least an hour before you want to play cause it gets really busy.

And Ralf.... we'll be @ the MAmmoth game too, hit me up when you get there, maybe we can hook up for a drink @ halftime. ;)

If I remember right, you cannot just go down there and play, they have certain times like every 20 mins or half hour so it limits how many games you have. Somone should call down there at 12 and find out what time the sessions will be held so we can get in on at least 2 or 3 of them. Also they rent the place for parties and such that often run in groups around the schedules so you will not be able to attend every session.

I would suggest that you leave DB at 3:00 and get lazer tag out of the way and then meet back at d&b's. I will be going to laser tag not sure how much longer I can hang around after that. Still trying to find out what the other southies are going to do with the car pool arrangments.

In my defense, I had to catch up on a bunch of welding work.

I will surely get up to Den-vah more this summer.
For the next North/South gathering, schedule the meeting time for mid-morning, or closer to noon, then I think more "Southies" can ride up there and hang out with all the "Northie" folks. It would kinda suck to ride up there in the afternoon, hang out for a couple hours and then ride home in the dark fighting the I-25 weekend traffic.

How was the turn out? I couldn't make it, had to get some homework done for one of my classes, forgot a big paper is due tommorow as my english proffessor likes to give us 3 weeks for 1/2 page summaries, but only a few days for 3 page research papers on a 5 paragraph essay >.<

Hummm...I just got home, the turnout was amazing. Oh, and the Northies sure do know how to shut a place down...te he. This "north/south" meet-up idea was a pretty darn good idea...wonder who it was that suggested it?...thanks, Mental.:)

To recap, we met up at Dave and Busters. Many northies showed up on bikes, so they didn't stick around for laser tag. We had a group of peeps go do the laser tag thingy...I was the "biggest loser"...thank you very much. Then we ended up at Caldonia's for cheaper drinks and food and met up with a whole lot more peeps...how far did we stretch out those tables again?

In all...it was a wonderful time had by all...I believe Bat and hubby are still enjoying Denver as I type.

Thank you everyone for showing up!!! See y'all the next time when we try it again...and, yes, we may just have to meet earlier so we can all ride to the meetin' spot.
