Hey Everyone;

I hope this doesn't offend anyone that I post this here, but I am really proud of my latest work. A lot of you know I like to write (MRA Program, Cycle News, our own gig at www.vonconcepts.com (http://www.vonconcepts.com) and the like), but I just finished a real book not too long ago and released it.

It's based on service writing, the occupation I chose to pay the bills with for a decade or so. So if you know anyone in the automotive / motorcycle industry .... turn them on to it.

I also need to thank Crissy. Her link to CafePress.com is how I decided to take the work from an Ebook format to a real honest to goodness book. At first when I looked at print, it would've taken a large investment.... but this way allows us to turn a profit right away while developing a readerbase.

My marketing website for the book is www.servicewriterbook.com (http://www.servicewriterbook.com)

Thanks for your support.

Kurt

Yes yes, we would all like to thank Crissy. without her brilliant ideas and thoughts, none of us would have anything to copy.

BTW, congrats on the book!

Thanks guys... just a couple days into this and we have over 500 hits to the site, in three countries ---- and most importantly... a few sales. Groovy.

Congrats, that is a great accomplishment. I wrote automotive service for 6 years so I am pretty familiar with the goings on in a dealership service department.

If someone was looking to change careers to become a svc writer, that intro chapter might be enough to scare them off pretty quickly. Probably not a bad thing, but you definitely hit the nail on the head with your description.

I have quite a few connections at area dealerships that I could get you in touch with if you need any help with marketing your book. It seems like dealers are always willing to try new training methods in hopes that they find the magic answer to the constant turnover within their svc depts.

Best of luck, I hope this is successful for you!

Thanks Dub;

Any help with marketing is always a plus. Refer them to the site -- www.servicewriterbook.com (http://www.servicewriterbook.com) -- I really apreciate that and your comment as well.

Scare people off? Maybe. I guess I am thinking that IF they choose this route... they should prepare themselves. You've been around - you've seen the mess. Of course, after all this time in the business, I am still amazed at how you can always turn a dollar -- with or without formal education. For a hard worker, its a great oportunity.
