Seeing that I'm still new here and trying to get to know everyone, I'll go first. I currently work as a Swiss Army Knife at a Lexus dealer. (The Swiss army reference is a metaphor for me having a tool for every job there.) I work as a service consultant, technician, asst. diagnostic specialist and a roadside assitance guy. I'm aspiring to get into the Sheriffs office in colorado springs when I get there... I hate working for a car dealer.

How bout you guys?

I am a chef and I work at a volleyball club/event facility. We have 6 indoor sand volleyball courts and Sunday thru Thursday we run leagues. Friday, Saturday and allother days during the day we do wedding and such

I'm also the volunteer manager for a B2B event management company, but that's a non-paid position. Instead I get to attend the events for free and meet everyone in the denver business community.

I am an astrophysicist at Southwest Research Institute in Boulder. I try to figure out what various kinds of stars are doing. Most of the people around me are planetary scientists, so I'm kind of an oddball there (I lost my interest in dirt at about age 4.). I also have a background in high performance computing. We're running the New Horizons mission to Pluto and are involved in some way with just about every active mission. New Horizons is beginning a gravity assist flyby of Jupiter this week to sling it on to Pluto, and the close approach encounter begins in a few days. You should see some pretty pictures of Jupiter over the next couple of weeks.

Why Cerebus is "doing that..."

Cerebus' avatar is Cerebus the Aardvark--the title character from a comic book spoof of the Conan novels. Cerebus always speaks in the third person and is "a misanthropic... at times sympathetic, at others unpalatably callous..." bipedal grey aardvark. [Cerebus and I have the same world view and wicked sense of humor.] It works for Cerebus...

Yes, Cerebus is a geek, but that doesn't affect the way Cerebus rides.

Ride there!

I bring work into my area and through my sub areas and back out of my area. I was watching Nemo with my girlfriend last night laughing my ass off when she said that to him. That's the funniest line in that movie.

That line isn't in Finding Nemo...

No in Skadis' avatar... I know that isnt from Finding Nemo.

"Finding the little kidnapped Gold and white fucker" would have suited that line a little better.

Dysco, what is with all the evil goats behind you? Is this some fetish we don't know about?

The top 4 are KISS Army impersonator goats. I put them up after an old manager pranked me by putting up a bunch of goat pictures and an "I love goats" sign.

When someone plays a prank- escalate!

Now my official nametag on top of my cube has a chupacabra sketch. Not sure how that got there but if I took the goats down it wouldn't make sense.

Short answer: I sell drugs

More detailed: I am an ager absorbtion unit that serves as the end point of faceless corporations (pharmaceutical, retail and insurance) and overbearing, pointless regulatory agencies (board of pharmacy, DEA, FDA and OSHA for starters). While my primary function is that of a human vending machine (or more of a middle man), I'm also the receiving point of the frustration that people have with the system. I spend much more time answering FAQ's such as; "Why is this so expensive?", "What do you mean this isn't covered by my insurance?" and "Whys isn't this ready yet?", than answering more valid questions.

As I get closer to FOG status I find that it gets harder every day to find a way out. I never really wanted a job, but then I started buying stuff...

Thanks for listening. I feel better now.

At a center or tower? Just wondering, might have talked to you up buzzing around...

I work Cheyenne tower and approach control.

And, if you have been a pilot in theatre, sandbox, I worked Jacobobad tower and approach in 2001, Bagram tower 2003, and was Baghdad Tower Chief Controller last summer. Baghdad was probably the most stressful, lots of attacks, POTUS visit etc.

How bout you guys?Nice to meet you... I post in spurts :)

I work for ME Engineers, I'm a Mechanical Systems CAD Coordinator. I also run a foundation called Operation: Love ReUnited (www.oplove.org (http://www.oplove.org)) and my photography business... www.shot-studio.com (http://www.shot-studio.com)

Not military, so I definitely didn't see any of that. Sounds crazy though.

I'll be passing through CYS on my way to SLC most likely May 2nd sometime in the morning (5159N prolly), if you're working say hey.
