I had to go to Denver yesterday, from Eisenhower tunell all the way to Denver was bumper to bumper, I think I got to 15mph a couple of times. I am glad that half the metro area goes to the hills to get away from the crowds:dunno:.
Took 6 hrs to get there, normally takes 3 1/2 - 4 hrs. No accidents or construction to blame, just lots of people.
Anyways, quality time with my daughter at least.
Cheers

Hey Rick,
Hope the ride home was a little quicker than the ride down.
Sorry I was so out of it, was totally beat from the track day.
Thanks for the shooting rest, like I said, I'll give it a good home.
(As soon as I actually clean my home.)
Nice meeting your daughter too, sweet kid.
(Nushka said to tell her hi too.)
I'll pull those parts and get em out to you this week.

There was a ton of traffic coming down 285 yesterday. We were going up around 2 to shoot and it was bumper to bumper.

It's the I-70 traffic that keeps me from going snowboarding most days. It sucks.

you don't know traffic till you come out to CA. Some roads you can roll around at midnight and it's still bumper to bumper....thank god for lane splitting

I moved here from the San Fransisco Bay area in '89. Average speed on the freeways then was 35mph.
It just cracks me up to see all the Happy Campers going to the hills to get away from it all, only to be met by the rest of the city. Over on this side of the hill, rush hour means that it takes 12 minutes to get home instead of 10 minutes:)
Yah Jeff, it was quicker getting home about 3 1/2 hrs, but then traffic is a little lighter at 2am. BTW, Jen says your pretty cool, but your place could use a "Womans" touch.:dunno:

Any day stuck in traffic in Colorado is better than just being in DFW or Houston.

I don't know what time you went down to the city, but I was driving back up around 2 and it was raining so hard right before Idaho Springs that you couldn't see anything. The whole highway was like a river! That could have had something to do with the traffic. For the most part I take the frontage road on any Sunday afternoon

no one had an issue when we did it a few weeks back and i suppose we were lucky to not see any police. it was sizzling hot and with the full leathers on there was no way i was sitting around for that long.

CheersNext time, take all the frontage roads:
Bakersville to Silver Plume
I-70 for a few miles
Georgetown to Idaho Springs
I-70 for a few miles
US 6 to US 40 at Kermits
US 40 to Golden/Morrison exit on I-70
You'll find this route a very nice ride in your car or bike.
Reverse it on the way back.:)
