Just wanted to mark the day so I know I need to be inside or at least out of the area on that day.

My source told me law enforcement are well aware of the event and are going to increase police in all three depts (state, city, and county) and will not let allow "what has happened in other states to happen here". I guess we will see. I have not seen a Co Ruff Rider event but I have not heard they participate the sort of behavior that blocks highways.

Not knocking them. Just didn't want to be impacted by any traffic issues while out scooting around. If they're going to be in Colorado Springs only, then riding in the surrounding area probably won't be affected.

This is also the days of the Colorado Freewheelers 1000 in 24 ride which I think avoids Colorado Springs this year (last year we rode up 25 through ColoSpgs).

Thanks.

LOLO don't pay them any mind.... i used to have a bad view of the Ruff Ryders for a while, but after the showing you guys had at Francisco's get together I found a new respect for you guys....

So, after your Ruff Ryder event goes off without any media fanfare or police action, you can come back to this thread and just gloat.....

While Lo Lo and I have gone rounds on the past about comments regarding the RR organization, image, fashion sense or lack there of, fees, etc - I respect him and his ability to make this event respectable and successful whatever his level of engagement is on it within his and the organizations' ability.

Hell - I'll admit it and say I give him far exponential trust and props over self-glossing stunters who remain unnamed for sake of not forcing edits or post deletions! :banghead:

Good luck in the event Lo Lo.

Relax. I wasn't making a personal attack. Just wondering.

And I hope it goes well. No accidents or incidents with the police. It'd be nice to have a decent, well run, non-Harley event in the state so we can show the non-riders that we're not a bunch of squids or hooligans.

Ride safe.

Oh to heck with that man, I want to PARTICIPATE!!! Can I be on the committee to pick which streets to do inpromptu stunts on? The idea of jamming the Springs 6 ways from Sunday in the name of sportbike superiority is cool.....

I am familiar with Ruff Ryders by reputation only, until a few weekends ago. I'd like to take a minute to share what took place. I teach the MSF course. In one of my classes a few weeks ago there were two ladies who were very new to riding, but were involved with the RR's. The guys in the club, not only encouraged the ladies to take the class, but also showed up as the class ended to show their support of their acheivement in passing the class. I have the utmost respect for a group that supports it's members in this fashion. I spoke with them breifly at the end of the class and they were very respectful and even more supportive of the ladies who took the class.

From my limited experience with the Ruff Ryders I have to send out kudos to how they support their own.

I think it is like that with "affiliated" groups, the actions of a few reflect on the rest. The ones in this area, OKC and Houston seem to be more interested in the drag/bling bikes than stunting. I have never really heard about the outlaw stunting element within the RR group down in these parts, they always seem to be part of some other group. I haven't really heard much about street racing with that group either, they do seem to be more low key than some of the others.

Just a little bump to keep the event fresh on everyones mind. Thanks everyone for the positive comments. We strive to be a positive group in all we do, to include taking care of our community, and our own members, and fellow motorcycle riders.

We all met up to ride over to make sure they knew they had our support. That is why I chose to be a part of the RR Family, because we aren't just a bunch of folks out there riding, we are a family and we take care of and support not just our members, but the biking community as a whole.

You should all try to come out and hang with us next weekend...let us change some perceptions, maybe gain a new riding buddy...and possibly a Family.

With all the positive responses I wouldn't mind coming by and checking it out. I'll be out on the 1000 in 24 ride though so I'll miss it. Post pics though. I'd like to see the event even if only virtually.

Yes, it was at the Coliseum. I pulled up in the white truck as everyone was talking. If I would have had my bike I would have hung around, but family duties called. Hopefully one of these days I will be able to be involved in a ride with you guys to see how tihngs go for myself . . .
