Today is Colorado's 131st birthday, or should I say Anniversary of statehood.

:happybday::bday:

So, while thinking about Colorado's statehood, I was reminded of when my family came here. We moved from California when I was 3. We lived in Ft. Collins first and then Boulder from 1967 until 1970. We moved around the country after that and even lived in Canada, but eventually came back to Denver in 1974 and have lived here ever since. Yep, guess I could call Colorado home.

Something else that made me think was what the Governor said today in the Denver Post (http://www.denverpost.com/art/ci_6508729)...

"Gov. Bill Ritter is using the state's birthday as a way to promote volunteerism in Colorado.
"Community service and volunteerism are fabulous ways to celebrate citizenship on Colorado's statehood day," Ritter said in a statement. "As we believe citizenship and community service go hand-in-hand, what better way is there to show our pride in Colorado than by pausing to give back to the state and its citizens?"

Yep, volunteering sure is a wonderful feeling.:)
