Yeah... those specs on the rider don't sound very promising.

Cathy had activity into her account this morning though, so....

Regardless, RIP rider. =\

Thank God for that I saw this thread before you posted Barn and I freaked trying to remember what bike she rode.

I saw all the stats and well I don't even want to think about it.

RIP and Gods Speed

Yeah... She was the first one I thought about.

I know another lady who rides a Kawi about that age, but I am not sure if she lives up north or not.

Reading the comments on the 9news site from witnesses, it sounds like the bike never actually hit the SUV - rather the bike was accelerating through the intersection, the SUV was completing a turn, and the rider hit the brakes and lost it, sliding under the tire of the SUV. The witness reports don't have any more detailed information though.

Well, I just left a message on her cell
to call me at work so hopefully it ISN'T her. I'll post immediately if I hear anything back. Sounds so close as to be scary though. The age is right, and she's close to that area.

The woman was Michele Longwell. It was a cruiser type of bike. RIP

Good and bad... that sucks.

Growing up in Florida it wasn't uncommon to hear about older people hitting motorcyclists, bicyclists or scooter'ists. My grandma alone hit two or three always claiming it was the other person's fault for not being seeable.

I love you guys so much!!!:)

RIP rider, though, it is such sad news.

Now, an explanation of where I was for those of you who called and texted me. I went to a meeting this morning at my school in Longmont to talk with the Siemens guys about the program they want us to undertake. I decided to take the long way from Loveland to get here this morning, so I left at 7 and went up Big Thompson canyon and then down hwy7:hump: through Lyons and then to Longmont.

Again...YOU GUYS ARE THE VERY BEST!!!

Hugs to all y'all and kisses to some of you (you know who you are:makeout:)

I'll see some of you tonight at the Haus...oh, and maybe some of you on the ride I posted in Canyon Carving?

Lastly...RIDE SAFE, DAMMIT!!!!

For anyone interested, we will be riding from MotoHaus at around 7:15 tonight to the intersection where Michele was killed. I have 50 carnations to bring, and we may have an escort from the Loveland PD Motor Ofiicers.

Gary

P.S. MotoHaus is @ 6712 S. College, Ft Collins

RIP rider, condolences to family and friends. Sucks that they always seem to word it in the papers that it looks like the rider's fault.

Second that.

WOW! While I only have infrequent contact with my Grandmother on this side of my family, this was my biological fathers sister in law, technically my aunt. I had never met her and have not seen her husband (my uncle) since the age of six, this still hits close to home. R.I.P Michele.

My condolences.

I was up at MotoHaus tonight and there were 50 carnations ready for us to take to the spot where Michelle was hit, but that rain came in like it was a lake that opened up above us and it didn't stop until about 8:45 and then it was still sprinkling.

Anyway, Gary left the carnations at the Haus and so anyone wanting to stop by and pick one up to place at the spot on Taft can do so over the next coupla days.
