Call my guy, Mark Peter, at State Farm
303-755-3220
He's done well by me and I've referred several club members to him. Service is first class, prices are very fair.
Please let him know I sent you.
Best of luck

I have had progressive, F them
I have had geico, F them harder
All State I heard is ok, but their rate was not in tune with the market
State Farm is awesome if you have a perfect driving record, I don't
I have been trying esurance for the last year. Have not yet reported an accident, but their rates were good. Just under progressive and geico (by 100 every 6 months)

Holy crap, I am not kidding. I have been with Progressive forever. The wife just switched and we now have all of our vehicles on Progressive. Very good rates and we cary high limits. I think it is 75 a year for my Jeep at 100/300/something. I'll have to ask the wife.

it is a bad sign when you're repeatedly told you need anger management and your (at the time) 10 year old son tells you to 'just breath mommy, she's just another idiot driver'.
dear god... i have issues. frak!

As RYBO said, you can't beat State Farm. I use a different agent than the guy he mentioned, but I still get awesome service from my guy. I get a huge discount for doing my homeowner's, car, and cycle all thru State Farm. For my first year ever on a bike, I'm only paying $21/mo., and it just dropped down to $13/mo. this year (probably because I turned 30).
I was with Geico for a few years, and they wanted me to pay around $600 a year for my cycle. I called State Farm and instantly switched after receiving their quote.
Great company!

State Farm will charge a higher premium if you have a less than perfect record. Percentage wise, the higher premium is higher than what Progressive will charge you. I have had progressive for a LOOOONG time so I know the highs and lows of their service and their pricing. Still the best insurance company I personally have dealt with.

I'm going on the assumption that it's financed, so here is another alternate thing you can try....
Find the least expensive "liability only" coverage you can find, and just go with that. If they ask anything about it being financed, just tell them "no". Say it's paid-off, whatever. Just buy liability at the best rate you can find it. At least you'll be covered legally.
Eventually, your financing bank will want the proof of comprehensive insurance and ask you to provide it. If you don't (after a few attempts), they'll just probably tell you that they are going to add the insurance for you, to your loan. You'll get some paperwork in the mail telling you how much it'll be, blah-blah-blah...
More than likely though, this insurance will be cheaper than what 3rd parties are charging. Of course it won't include liability, but you'll aready have it. They just want to insure their stake in your car.
I've insured a few things in my day with this method, since I have the world's worst driving record in history, and it's saved me many thousands of dollars.
Like right now on my Audi, I have full coverage and liability, and the combined cost of the seperate insurances is about $92/month LESS, than what the same coverage would have been, if I would have just done the whole ball-o-wax with Progressive. Now of course you are going to pay a small amount of APR to this insurance purchase, but it's not going to be anything near $1104/year. Depending on the rate of your car loan (which is hopefully very competitive), you're talking just a few bucks a year; double digits at most.
Anyway, it's a loop hole sure, and maybe some puritans might think it's shifty business... But then again my bottom line doesn't give a flying....
G'luck Cat.

People seem to to be forgetting it's not just your driving record, but also your credit rating can significantly change your rates (as well as where you live, commute distance, etc.). Seems people with bad credit tend to file more claims.

cat, in all seriousness. you need to call the GENERAL, NOW! 1800-GENERAL! you can even go online and print out your ID Card, instantly!
harrrrrr!!!
oh, and i just found out that some places, most, now ask for your social security because they run some kind of an Insurance Check which is similar to a credit check to see how many claims you have filed.
