yeah i read the link and saw it on the news briefly this morning, it's just crazy how these things are happening. almost like it never did, or never heard about it, and now it's happening once every few months.

I just gave my son a lecture this morning because his school requires that they wear ID's, if they forget it i think like 6 times they could be suspended from school, leading up to suspension are warnings and phone calls. anyways, i'm getting ready to take him to school this morning and his badge is already torn, i ask him what happened to it and he said some kid yanked on it. i asked if he reported the kid and he said no, and i understand that it's doesn't seem like a big issue to go tattling to the staff what happened. but if these badges are lost, stolen, destroyed then we have to pay for the new one and the kids are reprimanded for it. So to me, if some other kid is destroying the very thing that is put in place for their safety then i dont want my son to be in trouble for it. Obviously kids dont see it that way, so i explained again, why this policy is set in place and reminded him of these strangers that are going into schools and hurting/killing innocent people and that if that's not enough to make him respect his ID then i'm going to start selling his crap to pay for the replacements and maybe next time this kid just decides to try and yank it off his neck then he'll either tell him to knock it off or let someone know.
