On Saturday I and a few co-workers hooked up and did a ride. We took 115 to 50 to 9 to 11 and 1 into Cripple creeek. It was a great day, a bit windy. My friends were on crusiers so the pace was mostly legal, good for taking in the fall colors. After lunch we left Cripple Creek on what ever the road is that goes into divide. The wind was really picking up and the clouds looked ready to empty some nast stuff onto us. As we approached Divide a trailer passed us going in the opposite direction. The wind proceeded to empty the trailers load on to the road. The last rider on a big Honda VTX met up with a 55 gallon barrel. Mitch, the rider didn't panic, he kept it straight and never lost control, amazing. See the photo of the barrel, see the bike. Is this guy lucky or what? The police were there almost instantly and the State patrol showed soon afterwards to had out some citations to the offending hauler, also a biker he was heard to be saying. The police wanted Mitch to take some money from them to play lotto because he was one lucky sonofabitch. Everybody was very nice and no one got hurt except the VTX, but just a little. The front fender had to be pulled off the tire. That was it to get it ridable.

Glad your co-worker made it out of that safely! It is the season to pay attention...you never know what could end up in your path.

Again, just glad everyone returned safe.

It would have taken a crow bar to pull the seat out of my butt. Your boy has nerves of iced steel. You should take those pics for a recruiting poster for the MSF class.

+1. Glad he was safe and the bike is alright for the most part. Wind scares the crap out of me.

On that section of road I remember saying to myself, "I'm going to get that rear tire wear evened out, I'm leaning so far into the wind!!!" It was the worst wind I've ever ridden in on a sportbike.
