That time of year.

Oh, and a bag of traction sand.

The Bosch Icon wipers are pricey but are kickass!

I think when it comes to wipers, one gets what one pays for. So, er, where do you park???

I'm still a bit salty that you can't buy wiper refills anymore. Are people really too stupid to replace a windshield wiper? I went to pickup some new ones for the Ram a couple of months ago and they only carried replacement wipers... at like 26 - 50 bucks a piece! ouch...

And yep, time to get the tow straps and stuff into the truck.

If I need sand, I'm staying inside and drinkin'

My bike does not have wipers. I can't tow with it., Sand is normally bad for riding on.

Honestly, I have them and don't really like them in the snow. Nice "concept" of having a completely flexible blade, but in the "execution" of the idea I find that a ridge of ice builds up on them, whereas the older type with the snow "boots" on them work better on my truck. Plus, they're way more expensive. I'm gonna switch back this winter to the booted kind.

Time to start practicing that "open window, reach out and flick wiper while driving in snowstorm at 50 mph" technique. Remember to keep your arms and hands relaxed and to look "through" the windshield using your wide field of view to snag the blade using the "flick" technique.

I will be giving a Total "wiper" Control seminar at Checker and Pep Boys. Stay tuned for dates and times.

Each student will be given a chance to work one on one with the instructor on the 10 points to correct flicking. You must bring your own vehicle and gloves.

Sincerely,

Hmmm, Notto's had them on his truck and they seemed to work pretty well over the winter, but I put them on this spring and haven't used them on my car in the winter yet. I do have a heated windshield though, which will probably help.

I think I need to take your class - last time I tried that the whole wiper came off and went buh-bye. My technique must be all wrong.

Ha! I am so far ahead of you no talent ass clowns. Bash already put on Michelin CT2 studded snows on my street GSX R600. He put a 50 pound bag of sand and a snow shovel in the trunk, as well as a winter survival kit, which includes fifteen flares, a down bag rated at -200, three thermoses full of hot coffee with Bailey's, a case of powerbars, and a Saint Bernard. Plus, he changed my wiper fluid to everclear, which never freezes and you can suck on the nozzle if you're feeling a little cold. He also put two new unobtainium dilithium crystal wiper blades on the front and back windscreens. And, get this, he did all of this for only $250.00! Talk about the bro hookup!

Ahhh winter prep. I've got the bag of kitty liter (more abrasive than sand), shovel, chains, and studded tires all ready for the snow.
....just not sure how I'm going to fit it all on the back of the bike. :dunno:

For me it's more like heated gloves, quiet rider, and antifreeze change

Well, mine might be an extreme case. When it snows bad up in Estes, I head up to play in it. I just think the "boot" kind worked better on my windshield.
