I'm new here but the wife said an employee of hers said there in one in Springs that if you make it through it is FREE...hmmm my good friend in Denver and me do not see that happening...do people actual get THAT scared?

I see the Mine off of I25 around exit 153 or so has a hunted house, I'm told no one under 13 is allowed :-) Wife and I might go check it out.

Are you talking about the mine museum? If so, that is a cool place. Took my employees there once for a lunch and tour. Cool stuff and that place would make a cool haunted house--all the old mine buildings and all.

I've never been to one. I always figured it was for kids, meaning not very scary.

If there was one that can actually scare the pants off of an adult I might have to check it out. I love scary stuff. :o

I was told that the free place is called 11 story or something like that. It costs a lot to get in, but if you make it through all 11 stories, then you don't have to pay. I have been told that they are allowed to touch you and chase you. I would assume that there is some sort of liability form that you have to sign and I was also told that you can't touch them. That is exactly why I am not going because if somebody touches me, they will be knocked out and then i will go to jail. Not such a good decision.

Oh that sounds like a challenge to me. I bet I can get through all 11 stories. Bueller???

Did some searching and came up with this on the Springs Gazette page article from 2006:

Next year, the people who brought us Dante's Inferno downtown a few years ago will do a haunted house at the Western Museum of Mining and Industry at 125 North Gate Road. It's sure to scare the bejesus out of us.

October 5, Haunted Mines, opens 7:00 p.m.
Experience Total Terror!
Looking for some thrills in October? Check out the Haunted Mines on the grounds of the Museum. As a victim, er..., "Guest" of the Haunted Mines, you will be subjected to disorienting and distracting sounds, lights, fog and smoke, wind, water, heat, and other theatrical special effects. The attraction is not recommended for children under 12 years old unless accompanied by an adult and is not recommended for pregnant women, people with heart conditions, epilepsy, claustrophobia, or those who are scared of things that go bump in the night. Sorry, the mines are not ADA accessible. The base price for a ticket is $13. Additional discounts and information are available online at www.HauntedMines.org. Open most October nights. All proceeds benefit the Museum.

You want a haunted place? Anyone near or around Parker or anyone willing to drive into parker, you might wanna check this place out...

Third Bridge is what they call it, you can google it. Take Lincoln east all the way to jordan, turn left on jordan, right onto county line, take that all the way to a stop sign and head left, then take that dark ass road all the way to another stop sign and turn left again. Take that road about a mile to your first right/ stop sign. go right. take that dirt road about 20 minutes. you will pass #1 and #2 bridge together, then about 5 min past that is #3 bridge.

This bridge is said to have held the battles of cherry creek river and was host to a fatal car accident involving teenagers and some alchyhol!

-I have been there more than 4 times and everytime i hear the same thing... beating drums..... and it isnt quiet!! LOUD beating drums almost like an indian war drum...

last time I was there was about a year ago with some friends on a november night. Many other people go there because they hear about it, lots from chapparal highschool and ponderosa. they once told us they sat in their car in the middle of the bridge with their car turned off for 5 minutes then the they heard soemthing slap the hood of the car. they went out to inspect and saw a hand print. they booked it... LOL i dont really believe that though.

The drums were real though....

BEFORE YOU GO!!!!! -----There is a guy that lives next to the bridge and i have heard he gets pissed if you are loud and you go on his property. he has a shotgun. don't mess....

ALSO! dont say i didnt say to be careful around that road. park off the road and stay out of the way of cars even though there arent many... just use common sense and you might get freaked like i did a few times.

Now we're talkin! How about some scary ass stories from places around Denver. I've got a friend that says Daniels Park has a "gateway" to the beyond that demons portal through. Says he's fought with some spooky bad stuff. Claims he use to work for a group that would recover cult victims. Dude's got some scars on him that look like a f'n werewolf beat on his ass. I've met a few people in my time, but this guys got the eyes of a killer and the arsenal and technique to back it up.

I've never seen anything that bizzaro personally, but I don't doubt that some weird shit goes on in this world.

Haunted houses are one thing, the rest I'd prefer to stay far removed from.

I think the Christmas movies are coming out next week in order to stimulate sales of gamer computers. Anything to keep the economy out of the drink.

Try this one. It's 2007. (http://www.scared.com/)

I was supposed to go last Saturday to a couple but it got too cold and too wet. So I stayed in instead. Maybe Friday. If anyone is wants to come along, let me know. The more the merrier.
