View Full Version : How 'unfortunate' that you would protect yourself

Sifting through Fox videos I came across one of the Fox & Friends show where there was a clip called 'Feathered Hero'. One of the host makes a comment about midway through the vid about it being 'unfortunate' that a homeowner shot a robber that had broken into his house after being alerted by his bird that there was an intruder.
My question for him is how would this be considered unfortunate? Would he make a ridiculous comment like this if his house were broken into and his family brutalized by someone? .. probably not. What is unfortunate is that someone could have that though process. If someone breaks into my house and isn't chased off by the alarm system they will have 10mm sized holes in them.

I was looking for a bio or direct email link to the guy so that I could tell him what a jackass he is, but found none.

I didn't see the video. It was a video about peanut the parrot who warned about the fire. I am with you though. If someone is dumb enough to break in now a days I think that he is taking his life in his own hands. If he threatens me than is life is forfeit. Sorry, but my life is worth more to be than an unfortunate criminal with a laundry list of problems.

perhaps its unfortunate that the entire situation had to occur? the situation is unfortunate, the outcome is the best outcome possible.

That was the correct vid. As they are talking about the bird warning the family of the fire they mention another bird that warned the owner of a burgler breaking in. The homeowner shot the guy and the host calls it 'unfortunate' that the guy got a bullet for breaking in.

A situation can be unfortunate, without somebody having to feel sorry for what happened to the person who got [caught].

I didn't watch your link, so I don't know if the "perp" was killed or not, but it wouldn't shock me at all, if the homeowner himself feels bad that he had to shoot/kill somebody.

Undoubtedly he'd probably do it again (as would I), but there is a distinct difference between doing what needs to be done in a situation to serve your wellbeing, and finding pleasure in something that is otherwise a "sad" thing to have happen. Again, it's the difference between seeing the situation as unfortunate, but not regreting that it needed to go down.

What "Chica" said actually made sense, but after reading your quip in response, I'm not surprised why you don't understand this.

Well after watching the that part of the video a couple of times I got the impression that the host was coming from the angle of feeling sorry for the burglar who put themselves in that position. I would probably have some guilt for having to shoot some intruder in the middle of the night, but it would not stop me from doing it.
As far as my 'quip response' goes; I have no patience, caring, or interest in the thoughts of someone who resorts to sending me nasty PMs. I'm sure I'm not the only one who received rays of sunshine in PM form from her either.

Well her sending nasty PMs is equally as Bush League. If she did (which seems quite plausible), that's lame. In my opinion, probably equally as lame as some of the people on here, who piled on, and flamed her during various threads. Some ever after the threads were done. But whatever is clever, that's between ya'll.

I guess what I'm wondering though, is when does the fighting fire with gasoline bit end? I mean is anybody really morally superior when reply "C" is in response to incident "A", no matter what was happened during "B". (?)

Anyway, nothing personal. And incidently I totally understand and support your right to your opinion. You're 100% entitled to your complete disregard for her, and for whoever else falls into that category for that matter. Truly. But I just think along with that entitlement, you gotta be (at least a little) compelled to leave her comment alone. Especially when it was as benign as what she had to say in this thread. Not to mention, true!

If that coulda happened, then it really would have proven [to me anyway] that you have no care/interest/etc for her. Alas, the fire got stoked seemingly for the fun of it, and I had to throw a crack at that.

Anyway... carry on... Good lookin' out to homeowner, for trying to protect himself and his shite.

My .02 and sorry for taking this off topic but something that I've wanted to say for a while....

I totally agree with every thing Barn has written here. I don't know much of the situations with this individual, but I have read some things here and there and understand that there is obviously personality conflicts.

I know people who say things just to get a rise out of you and it seems that this is how GixxerChicka is affecting you. So do this, don't let her "win" by commenting anything to what she says rather say nothing at all to her comments. This will also keep things a little more mellow on the board.

Let's face it. GixxerChica is a hussie, for not taking the night off to come to K&D's Halloween party.

I can't follow a thread that is hijacked by someone on my ignore list. I don't want to hear what she has to say but I feel its "unfortunate" that you guys took her bait and feeding the troll.

Wow, it's been a long while but I miss this kind-o-stuff here at the good ol CSC.

A few things, the dirtbag broke in, he got what was coming to him.

Sounds like GiXXeRChicA has a following! Guess I need to hang out here more often but after selling the busa I kinda lost touch. Come next spring I will be picking up a new Buell so maybe I can start coming back lol.

One thing GiXXeRChicA, you really should have the American flag first in your sig out of respect for the country you live in, just a thought.

Dude... don't bother. Just put the troll on ignore and move on.

We've already covered the flag issue... extensively :banghead:

Come on Salsa. AirAssault knows better that; I know you've read his posts! I'm pretty sure he didn't get as good as he is at point/counterpoint, by putting the opposition on Mute.

The Easy button is for Staples customers.

Yes, he's a big boy and can take care of himself... I just didn't want to re-hash the same old crap about the flag... again. If you'd seen the fires we're putting out on one of my sites, I'm having enough problems keeping the gun nuts from killing each other over this debate. Figured we had moved past that here.

Regarding the mute button... The easy button is good, the easy button is wise... nothing better then imposing the STFU function of the forum software!

Didn't read every post, no patience...

But to go back to the root of it.
I HATE stupid ass comments by reporters. They all seem fake and saying shit cause it may make sense at the time, but they don't even know if they mean it or not. They'll only say shit cause it may seem like a relevance response tot the story. Basically NO BACKBONES!

Phew... that was relieving :)

Gixxerchina is a troll. She doesn't know anything about anything. That's why she is the only one on my ignore list. Even barn lets a nugget of truth out his ass once and while he even says something intelligible. But then he says something like "Guns nuts... I hope nobody dies." And he is right back where he started. I am tempted to put back my troll shower but I don't care enough to give it a second thought.

The news is a dieing sport where the game is fixed we can always guess the score and they have no one to blame but themselves. The rest of the world can tell stories too, but when they start getting it wrong there is someone to take their place. We don't have talking heads writing up stories about the President five minutes before the show. And we don't need them either.

Glocks aren't the greatest ever?.. jk. It just annoys me when people in that position like the show's host try to demean someone who isn't against guns because they had to use theirs.
In other funny news Hillary Clinton just made a speach about supporting the second amendment.

On the subject of dumb reporters, I cuaght an interview with Arnold regarding the CA Fires. It seems the reporter was trolling for mistakes and comparing it to Katrina. God bless Arnold (like him or no) He kept his compusre and said (smiling) "I know you are looking for mistakes, but none were made." I took it as him not selling out his firefighters in CA to a reporter trying to make a name for herself.

Come on man... A majority of the active posters on the place know each other personally! While we may not agree on a lot of life phiolosphies, we can get away with stuff that some people can't. We're privilaged in that our knowledge of one another is a little deeper than most newbies realize.

My sarcasm, my quips, my truthful and heartfelt posts, and even the intentional ruse that I throw out there, are all entitled to me; don't you see? The "gun nuts" comment was for a target audience, that obviously missed you. The same way A LOT of other posts are, from some of the other Aristocracy around here. I'm not going to defend that being a good thing or a bad thing, it just is.

Do you think if Suki or Frank (Cycle Monkey) or R1chie or DK just stepped into this forum outta the blue w/out having ever made many many appearances and effort toward real life interaction, that they'd be able to get away with a lot of the stuff they say?? Please.

And time may change things for you and for Chica, and for anybody else who is restricted to the shallow end for the time being. I hope that's the case too, cause I love watching this club grow with solid members. Even if they don't like what one another has to say. But really... for the time being, don't think you're any different from Chica herself. Nobody just gets to skip their time on the JV squad.

Anyway, I'll see ya at the party. Definitely find me and say hello. I'll be dressed like a lot of other people there though. We'll be the ones who know everybody else. ;)

See there you go again. You sweet talker you. I didn't understand a word that you wrote but it sounded good. I could be just going thru withdraws from not riding today.
Chica, and the rest of us for that matter is like a micro sample of the world I think. For the most part everyone is great examples of good breeding, education and group social skills. Then comes someone like chica fresh from screwing a monkey, with liberal ideas, no common sense, who when called on her treachery can do one of 2 things call someone a racist, make up terms like xeroxiodit if we don't have tolerance for her doom and gloom. And she will use those terms freely without regard for meaning when ever someone doesn't agree with her. And we all have no choice to except her because we are all just a bunch of wonderful people.
