I haven't been on the slopes in a couple of seasons, but plan on getting back out there this year. I used to be big into the racing/carving scene, starting with the old school Kemper Bullet, then on to the Burton asymmetrical PJs (initialed for racing greats Peter Bauer and Jean Nerva - anyone remember those guys!?), and eventually moved on to the symmetrical Factory Primes. I still have my "99 Factory Prime with the race plates, that I need to wipe the dust off of.

Anyway - I don't plan on buying any new gear anytime soon, but I was wondering... does anyone still make alpine carving or GS boards? I browsed the Burton site and couldn't find any. I'm sure someone MUST be supplying the racers these days. Who is it?

Anyone know? :dunno:

I WISH I had kept that freecarve board (Burton Amp). I loved that thing. I tried the Asyms, but never really dug them, and I never went full race plates, but rocked the threestrap bindings.

Best of luck finding snowboard specific race equipment locally. Most of the more well known manufacturers abandoned carving/race boards a while back...

Check these out, you may be able to dig down to some boot providers...

Oxygen (atomic), F2, Nidecker and Volkl still make race snowboards, but they are a bit hard to find. I have a spare 149 slalom board mounted with burton raceplates if someone is interestd. Bindings are lightly used, board is brand new

It's tiny for sure, and it wasn't really for me. It was for a friend who never used it.

I used to do this in a big way. factory primes 178 and 157 running physics bindings with their fire boots. used to run the chutes with my amp 169 running si-x bindings with the duster softboots. go to the annual Sessions event to see who-has-what these days.
