I had to leave the bike at a Fivebucks on A-pahoe this morning. Riding in at 6:30. The roads were pretty slick but I was doing ok. I was approaching Newton middle school on A-pahoe, going up the hill and the bike was breaking loose all over the place. I was half clutching it to keep the revs even just to make it up the hill. haha I could not keep my visor down because there was about a 1/4 in of ice covering it so I flipped it up. Now the ice was forming on my face and eyes lol. I got to the Colorado/A-pahoe intersection and idled to a stop. The car behind me had a different idea. It skidded past me, through the intersection, narrowly missing me and an intersecting school bus, and ended up off the side of the road. That was it, I was not ready to die this morning. I limped the bike down the hill and pulled into the King Stoopers parking lot and parked it in front of Fivebucks. Had to call the wife to come and get me :( I feel so pathetic.

Yeah, high horsepower sport bikes and snow don't mix too well. Cold I can handle. Wet I can handle. Cold and wet has me caging it.

motorcycle snow chains?
http://www.mv-motorrad.de/cosmoshop/pix/a/n/1104836894-14354.jpg
For the true all-weather motorcycle rider.
You have waited long enough. Because we ourselves are all-weather riders, we could not rest until we found a solution.
The universal Snow Claws Set
Wether ice or snow, you can proceed.
We achieved the best result with 5 claws. The claws are put on and carefully fastened over the rims with a fabric band. The ice covered roads no longer stand in the way. Slowly insurmountable distances and upward grades can be mastered.
Caution The snow claw should only be driven at slow speeds. Consider that the front wheel can suddenly veer out on ice or snow.
With the snow claws, patience, and practice, we can eliminate accidents and falls from our travels in snow and ice and mud.
The set contains 5 claws.

I like the idea but at around $150 bucks I think I'll just do what I was thinking of doing anyway and what Burt Munro did. Take a piece of clothesline and wrap it around the tires several times. Perfect and it only costs a couple of bucks.
Good to see my idea has worth.

Great idea Carl, thought about those cable style chains for a bike before.
But was always worried what would happen when they came loose and
wrapped around the sproket and hub.
Clothe line might stand a better chance of just breaking rather than binding up the works (at least at first).

Just like the claws mentioned above, they'd only really be useful in a slow ride in snow or packed snow. An emergency tool when you're stuck somewhere.
I'd use them like last week when we were at Bryce Canyon and we got 2" of snow. Wrap them around the tire to get out of the snow belt, remove the rope and head on to warmer weather :)

You know, I had that happen to me once with a paycheck... Had to hunt the guy down. He didn't want to pay, I explained that wasn't his best option since he had just written me a fraudulent paycheck which didn't clear his own bank when I cashed it. I assume he considered the ramifications of going to jail briefly, but the cash materialized shortly thereafter.

LOL, yeah battery acid doesn't like clothes.
Put it in a bag and the bag in a box.
Seems OK, they tested the battery last night and said it was fine.
Put it on the charger all night and it was still dead as a hatchet.
Was about to be pissed but the kid at checker gave me a replacement FOC even though it was over a year old and the computer didn't have it listed under my name.
Damn well better have though, considering I'm replacing my "Lifetime Warraty" clutch for the third time and had two other battery purchases this fall.
