....saw a new unmarked revenue-collector this morning. Was a new silver Malibu? (I think) 4-door with chrome trim around the windows, and the windows limo-tinted. No markings at ALL. All you'll see is the removeable blue light inside the car on the dash (like in the '70's) and flashing headlights. I saw a guy get nailed this morning in FTC 1/2 block South of Harmony on 287 (college).
Be warned, and may the force be with you.

There are actually quite a few different makes/models being used as unmarked cruisers now days. Too many people caught onto the whole Crown Victoria thing and departments quickly started to realize that they were not "blending" with traffic enough to catch traffic offenders...just wait, one day somebody is going to get stopped by a minivan!
I laugh now...but probably should't as sad as it is, they probably already have one in use

I see quite a few between Erie and Rt 52 on my commute. Generally sitting on the shoulder just as you come over the hill after Erie and once in the median. They're also in the park and ride on the west side at about halfway between the two. I saw one once on the north side of Rt 52 on the west side of the road on the south side of the row of trees (so he's using the trees as a partial barrier to catch south bound traffic approaching Rt 52).
So far I've done pretty well in avoiding them; being in the pack of cars or some hint that has me slow down (nothing I can pin down, I just feel that I should be a bit slower). I suspect I'll get nabbed one of these days though :) Especially if they haunt Rt 52 between 95th street and Rt 52. Nice long straight away :D

It's a Dodge Charger....I've seen that car around a few times, with the tinted windows you can't even tell it's a cop car!

Well turnabout's fair play. Just take down their license plate# and post up here.
Earlier this year on 287, there was a brand new F150 super crew pickup, grey with a diamond plate toolbox prowling between Lookout Rd and Lafayette. I came down the hill one Sunday morning and he was sitting on the curb. He lit me up as a warning.

i understand just realize the point of my post
being an open forum has advantages and disadvantages, one disadvantage is the fact that you(we) never know who might be reading
just something to keep in mind for future reference

Hey Nick. No, I know the Charger you're talking about. I see that up by Whore's-tooth, er, Horsetooth lake sometimes. This isn't a Charger, it looks like some androgenous GM product. Actually, I came up behind it. There are nothing but flashing back-up lights on the back of this thing. The only light I see really ID'ing it as a cop is the small blue bubble light on the dash. And I'm sure they hide that and put it up as needed to collect revenue.

Hey, guys. On a side note anybody know a good traffic lawyer in Larimer. I was passing a guy that was holding up 6 cars and as I pull back in a CSP coming the other way behind a line of 7 cars pulls me over for speeding! He said it doesn't matter if I was passing or the other guy was impeding traffic. I was in my cage and the guy punches it when I get next to him trying to hang me out to dry!!!! I wanna fight this one and am willing to pay a lawyer.

I f#cking hate it when people do that. Good luck with it, too bad you don't have any witnesses to the guy trying to cause an accident by preventing you being able to merge back in line. I had the same exact thing happen when I passed some b!tch in a VW, but without the ticket. She followed me, calling (I assume) the CHP number. She was cuttin people off in order to follow me, but calling ME in. I should have gone out into the dirt, and if she followed me, do a dance on her hood....:scream1:

hmm maybe you are right...the charger I saw up at Horsetooth before was white and this one I'm talking about (and I think you are speaking of) is silver with jet black windows. Maybe I'll speed around town later and when he pulls me over I'll ask what kind of car it is, that'll show you! :)

beware of all po-po's im from down in the springs but travel up north often.. we have the chargers, the crown vic's, durangos, a few of the new mustangs in the county. but aside from those now normal pig cages. i saw a silver pickup pull a vehicle over near my house in the springs.. not sure if it was just a personal detective vehicle of what.. that.. and a trick i see every nowe and then from the lowlifes around here.. they have a cop sit in a civilian vehicle with a radar gun and catch people. but he just radios ahead to his swarm of friends usually waiting WELL OUT OF SIGHT.. my opinion is just go the damn speedlimit.. ive had more than my share of speeeding awards and i dont speed anymore.. my last two are complete BS and i was just bent over and screwed but with my record it was my word against his, and i lost.. cops will always be out for bikers in my opinion due to the few ass' out there that do cause problems.. just drive safe, and ride ten times safer...

We used to have that same thing when I lived in the DC area. The Maryland cops were quite creative and had radar guns sitting in the idle construction equipment in the median. They'd call ahead and you'd get pulled over.
The best enforcement I've ever seen was when I was traveling Rt 10 in Florida. Every 10 or so miles there was a hump in the road (taller than a car and gradual). Just before the hump, a cop would be sitting there. So for the 10 or so miles after you came over a hump, you could see the next cop way way ahead. And of course with cops sitting there, no one sped which worked great for traffic management vs enforcement.
If it's revenue generation, look for the "enforcement" vehicles :)
