JUST for the free gubbament cheese?

Growing up po in New York, we were on the welfare and man I MISS that cheese!! Sometimes I think about quitting my job and moving back just to get a 5 pound brick of the welf cheddar and some canned bologna.

Anyone else like the gubbaments block of dairy goodness?

I don't really remember the cheese, but I must have liked it because I ate it.

Once my dad got that good job at the gas station and we moved into a double wide, we have never looked back.........

Closest thing I've found is King Sooper's generic brand of Velvetta, not

We used to get the cheaz at summer camp. mac & cheaz was by far superior to any samach on the grill. The goolag had doners in high places --- like the Pentagog so wez gots the bestest schizen.

I spent 6 months eatin' dat gubbermint cheez as a yout' back in da day in a Bakersfield "summer camp" and Kernville's "Camp Erwin Owen". Later, I had a G/F who's family got some 'o dat cheez too. Mah guts ain't been da same since!:oops:

Not to add too much seriousness to this thread, but since I work for Adams County, I'm actually quite familiar with our food distribution program. It’s still very alive and helpful to people, and the warehouse where all the goods are, is actually right here next to my job.
(Think 56th and Quebec by the new soccer stadium)

So yeah… if you’re a resident of Adams County and you want/need to supplement your groceries, hit me up on PM, or post, or call me or whatever…. There are no income guidelines or anything like that, you just need to have your proof of residency for here in Adams County and you’re welcome to some food.
