As most of you know, Matty sustained some fairly serious injuries this fall at the races in Pueblo. As a result, some substantial medical bills have accumulated. The Ruff Ryders group has set up a benefit for him at the Purple Martini this weekend.

There will be no cover charge, and the Purple Martini has agreed to have a certain coctkail available in honor of Matty. Every time one is ordered a portion of the sales will go to help him with his remaining medical bills.

This will be such a great time and a way to help out a fellow rider. Hope to see you all there :D

If I was touristing in Long Beach, I'd go to the Aquarium of the Pacific. Also The Pike and Shoreline Village, for just like walking around and window shopping. Tons of bars in downtown, tons of gay bars.

If I was gonna drive around, I'd head west on Ocean Blvd, that would take you over the very high Vincent Thomas Bridge (which you see in Charlies Angels as being right outside Cal Speedway), over the port of Los Angeles, and into San Pedro. From Ports O'Call Village in San Pedro you can take a harbor cruise around the port. Not high energy exciting, but that's what I'd do.

Purple Martini Hosts “Hollywood Nights” Benefit
January 7, 2008 (Greenwood Village, CO) – The Purple Martini, a lounge that raises the bar on nightlife in Colorado, will host a “Hollywood Nights” on Saturday, January 19 from 9:00 to 11:00 p.m. at the Purple Martini DTC (8000 E. Belleview Avenue, Greenwood Village). The event will benefit Matt “Hollywood” Brenner to help defray medical costs after a motorcycle accident.
The event was organized by Ruff Ryders and Sick Girlz. Sick Girlz is a Denver-based nonprofit organization comprised of female motorcycle enthusiasts who raise money for those in motorcycle accidents.
Ruff Ryders is a New York-based hip-hop label whose success in the music industry brought their bike and four wheelers culture to the masses. The Ruff Ryders motorcycle clubs are now in most major cities, including Denver; Brenner is a member of Ruff Ryders.
“We are excited to reach out to the motorcycle community and host this great benefit,” said Will Coleman, co-owner of the Purple Martini Lounges. “The Purple Martini generously supports many charitable events like this each year.”
The Purple Martini DTC will be accepting $10 donations at the door; guests that donate will be entered into a drawing. Attendees can also pop a balloon for $10 to win additional prizes.
Additionally, the Purple Martini bartenders have created a feature martini, called “Hollywood,” for the event, and proceeds from those martinis will be donated to the cause.
A fashion show will be held at 9:00 p.m. featuring clothing from Hoodoo Nation, Woodward Skate Park, and Colorado Powersports.
Brenner’s accident occurred on September 2, 2007, resulting in several injuries, including multiple compound and spiral fractures to his left femur. The money raised will help pay for Brenner’s medical costs for the reconstruction of his left leg.
“I want to personally thank the members of my motorcycle club, Ruff Ryders, the Colorado Sportbike Club, and the Purple Martini Lounges,” said Brenner.

hope everyone that donated won some good prizes, and from what i heard it looks like we got a few free parties at Fox and Hound to take advantage of.

The party turned out to be a huge success. I was told by the manager it was one of the top 10 busiest nights that the Purple Martini has ever had.

Jeff... It wasn't your fault. Please stop feeling guilty over it. If something is of value to you and you take it to a super crowded bar and it gets broke unintentionally.... The fault is on the person who took it in the first place!
I remember one time this lady brought her laptop to a bar... had in on the table and I knocked a margarita over... the party-foul shorted the computer. This lady thought I was responsible for the damage. I told her that if she was the one who thought to a freeking bar! As it turns out they replaced the cord and it was fine... ( didn't get the drink ON is... just Under it).
