Damn- I am tempted. I hate helpdesk with a passion that's almost holy- but Union bennies could tempt me. I have 11 years assorted IT experience- mainly helpdesk. What are you supporting? What's the average call per shift? End-user support, or do the callers have a clue?

I'm not in that job title anymore (I work our biggest eqpt now) but this position is either front-ending calls for the larger eqpt or working our smaller products. It just depends on what group they are hiring for. These would all be telecommunications systems, not PC's. I'm guessing maybe 30 calls per day, but I really don't know for sure as I work in an entirely different group. If you can pass the UNIX and LAN/WAN tests in addition to the others then you qualify for my position, they aren't hiring for it now but it's about $4 more per hour and its nice to be pre-qualified for when there are openings. :D

Echostar too Suki...dont have to do the incoming or sales, we now house dispatch for our installers too. Thats just at my facility. Check around there are 5 facilities in the metro area and I think 2 near aurora/DTC..

If Echostar is DEFF OUT, I heard one of my friends talking about a job in aurora like that the other day...I'll look into it and post back when I get the info for ya.

mei mei lover, i caaaaan't do those shifts with having to transport kiddo to school. it's going to be hard for me to find a job based on wanting to keep him at the school he's at but oh well, one day after he's burned my house down, ruined my life, stole my jewlery and pawned my valuables, he'll thank me for all the sacrifices i've made to keep him in a good school!
