Anyone got any advice?

Here's what I'm looking for:

I've got a grad degree in Education with an emphasis in E-Ed, which basically means I know how to teach online. I've done that through my school district in Longmont on a part-time basis along with my full-time teaching gig, but want to know more about what employers are looking for. I'm not half bad when it comes to Instructional Design and am extremely trainable in any job setting.

What am I lacking? Right now? I'm lacking experience with the design tools used in the "work place". When it comes to school districts, we are pretty much limited with funding, which means, we use the easiest/cheapest tools available.

What does the "work world" use to design WBT and CBT? What do companies in the Front Range use to design training for their employees? What do they look for in hiring trainers and designers?
