Ideas to help Mike's family

As you all know, Mike (ziggy) went down this weekend and there is a long road ahead for his family no matter what Mikes overall outcome may be.

In speaking with some people who both did and did not know him, all felt we should act quickly to help his wife and kids.

I am just starting the ideas flowing....

I think at this point anything to help his family woulkd be worth while. Howbeit, if it is available to set up a fund in a bank in Mikes family's name, then that would be the best way to go I think.

Pass the helmet seems good to me. Also, talk to FastFreddy (did it for the Muffdiver) and get some info from him.

Paypal account is pretty easy to set up to take donations ... pretty straight-forward to set up if you go to their website.

I think it all sounds like a good idea, organizing a poker run would be a blast... and a great way to get a good lump of $$$ for him.. A fund in his families name is the best way to start it off i'd think.

I know nothing about the process of starting a bank account for this type of thing so if someone who knows or has the time could start one and we could deposit all $$$ gained form other events - that would be great.

I received a call at lunch froma close friend of Mikes. He set up an account yesterday I believe and has already collected 300 dollars. His name is daveyD I believe.

Bigtime - if you can get the info let me know of the account as I will be pimping $$$ from all of the night/shell crowd.

I got a call from Scott (non-csc member because they still have not accepted his sign-up) and he is looking into account stuff so if there is one I need to let him know so he does not spend too much time.

Can we talk to the local bike shops about putting up some collection jars there? Im sure fellow riders, even those non-CSC folks would give to a fellow rider in need. I'd be glad to check w/ them if this is possible. I'd also be willing to stop by every few days and pick up donations, take them to the bank, etc. Also, would someone close to Mike's family please give me a ring at 459-3226, I have more info that could help.

Okay, just talked to several local shops who are willing to let us put up a collection jar :D . Can someone print up something to put on the jars? Im not very creative w/ this kind of thing. I will look tonight and buy the jars. Im self employed so I have free time as needed to run around picking them up. Also, how about someone trying this up in the Denver area? If someone can print up the fliers to put on jars, call me at 459-3226. Thanks in advance.
