Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversees, designs and administers the wide-area network, hardware, circuits and carrier relations.
Oversees, designs and administers the firewall, intrusion detection system and security systems.
Assists in the administration of voice systems, telephone, voice-mail, etc.
Works with third-party vendors in acquiring and supporting hardware and software purchased.
Assists in the administration of the local-area-network, hardware and software.
Provides next level support to the Network Technician and Telecom Specialist.
Evaluates LAN/WAN performance and capacities to identify problem areas or bottlenecks.
Recommends and implements solutions, software packages and tools to increase productivity.
Installs, updates and modifies LAN/WAN network hardware, software and services.
Installs, updates and modifies Wireless network hardware, software and services.
Maintains, monitors and performs, LAN/WAN configuration backups.
Prepares LAN/WAN system documentation.

Required Skills:
Bachelor's Degree (B.A./B.S.) in Computer Science or related field from four-year college or university; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in administration, support and design of LAN/WAN systems.
Excellent understanding of Internet Protocol.
Experience with SNMP and MIBv2
Experience with layer 2 protocols such as HDSL and PPP.
Experience with routing protocols such as RIP, EIGRP, with an emphasis on OSPF and BGP.
Experience with encryption standards such as AES and 3DES.
Working knowledge and experience in installing, securing, maintaining and supporting LAN/WAN systems and wireless 802.11 a/b/g/n systems.
Experience and knowledge of Cisco hardware and software.
Experience and knowledge of HP hardware, software and monitoring systems.
Experience in administration, support and design of voice/telephone systems primarily Nortel and Cisco.
Experience with 3Com, Shiva, Network General, Visual Networks, AdTran and Larscom hardware preferred.
Experience with CiscoWorks, Nimbus, Network Associate and/or sniffer applications.
Basic Accounting and Payroll user support skills.
Advanced Outlook, MS Word and Excel Skills.
Intermediate Windows, database, Cisco and IOS skills.
