Body positioning looks fine, for the most part.
Jason, you should practice on your counter steering more.

I maybe interested in this one. I would like to see how 'tight' those corners actually are.

Can you guys give me the details about both CDR and IMI. I have all the riding gear, but what would be the cost and what bike prep would I need to do/not do?

Thu Oct 7th, 2004, 10:16 PM
IMI is $20 for all day. Its a go cart track so it is very tight. No bike prep needed that I know of. I havent ridden on cdr and I havent even been there in like 10 years so I cant say much about it.

CDR sounds more fun. I talked to a few of the MRA guys I'm close with and they said that I'd never get out of 1st gear at IMI. Sounds true, eh?

Anyway... Silk, I saw you tried to email me, but nothing came across. What were you gonna say?

Hey Barn was just giving you info. on CDR it's $50.00 for 1/2 day which is plenty of time. I went there last Sat. and was sore for 2 days afterwards.....It's a blast alot more fun than IMI.......No bike prep required they even allow guys to wear just a helmet and gloves no leather bottoms required.......

IMI is cool but it is really tight, was thinking of hitting CDR on Sunday again

I am going to try and make it....same with my bro I think. Have to see what time we can get over there though. We are building a room (addition) onto my parents house for my grandmother. Worked 10 hours today on it. Have to go up in the morning to put the last of the shingles on the roof. I am already sore, don't know what the track will do to me :| Hope to see you guys out there!

Good day for those of you out there. CDR is a fun track....just a few spots that need a little TLC. Anyway great riding. Bueller---getting pretty quick out there. Next time would like to follow you a few more laps to watch some lines.
Tom and I were running 1:19, I was pretty proud of that number for being the first time I have ever ridden there. Beuller your best lap time was 1:16.6, or at least from what my wife was clocking  I managed to scare the crap out of myself coming down the slide before the last turn......still don't know why I froze up, but we were off roading the Gixxer for a bit :x Good to get on a "real" track. Doug the track guy was extremely cool and was happy to see bikes out there. Probably hit it next Sunday if weather permits!!

WTF?? Everyone who was there or was originally going knew the plans. Read the thread bro---and if I recall you were out anyway(see above). The pland was to hit IMI, however they had go-cart races going on, so we headed up to CDR to watch originally, but then got a good deal and rode for a few hours.....Why would our location change if you could go or not--whatever. I guess next time we switch places due to unseen circumstances we will call and let you know even though you already previously told us you could not go??
Doesn't make a bit of sense to me :?

had a blast out there and was nice to see some new faces that i never get to see. Not sure if the guy who was riding the Red VFR (since I remember names for like 2 mins) reads the board but thanks again for letting me chase you around the track. Got some better lines then the ones I had. And Bueller. If that was the slow bike you went home and got after the other one broke. I dont even want to know how fast you go on that one. You were lappin people (including myself) every few laps. That old Porsche was fun to play with though ;)

Had I known you were going to CDR I would have postponed my plans and gone. I just figured you guys were going to be out there at IMI fighting with the go carts so I went ahead with my plans.

I would just appreciate someone letting me know what the hell is up for once. I thought we were all friends here, but apparantly I am missing something. Glad you guys had fun.

Read my post above....the plan was IMI. Cart races were going on and the track was not open. I guess if we all could have taken over the track then our plans would not have changed? However we were out and ready to ride. The lady in the booth told me the previous riders went to the Mead track. I headed up there and was going to watch. Tom and my bro showed up as well.
If you are wanting a phone call when plans change I think that is a totally unrealistic expectation. If someone says they are out for riding for the day I don't think you can expect us to know what circumstances will change your plans for the day. I went with the plans posted here, took a gamble to go to Mead on my own and had some fun.
As for everyone being friends here I don't see how that even plays a part in this. You were not left out intentionally by any means, you posted you were with the family for the day......I guess I should be saying "Thanks for keeping us posted on your plans."
Get over it and come ride next weekend and have some fun ;)

Now I wish I had gone on up to CDR too. What kind of a deal they give you guys? I can't really afford $50 but would love to give it a try. Let me know the plans for this weekend if the weather holds out. Even if I can't ride I will come up and watch. Glad you guys had a good track day.

Wanted to clarify the track day this weekend. I did receive a PM and it is NOT A FREE TRACK DAY
I apologize for the confusion. (I will blame it on Gramps, he told me this...hehe) I just did not want to be blamed for everyone showing up and being turned away at the gate. Again sorry for getting everyone's hopes up ;)
