Well there have been stories on the news about my company having problems. Last week the president resigned and three of the affiliate companies under our umbrella were closed and filed bankruptcy.
Today they finally gave us the announcement that our remaining companies are to be sold to First American. What this means is that all of the companies that were generating revenue for my company as the parent company are being sold. No more revenue for us, which will ultimately mean no more job for me and everyone else i work with.

If you know anyone that has any openings for an Exchange Administrator for Exchange 5.5 / 2003 / 2007 with over 7 years experience in Exchange and 9 + years in IT, hit me up! I also have some management experience as well.
Thanks!

Hey Wick. I'd like to exchange you nothing, for my beer mug.
It's a fair deal. Take it.

i'm currently a tier three engineer / architect but am the manager of the infrastructure services department. Salary requirement is 80k.
I think that I'm a bit over qualified for a mid-level position.

This is what scares me about my boss wanting to just "buy" a exchange server for our email....if we need a team of people to manage it because its just me running the windows related things.....good luck with the hunt!

That sucks! I hope you find another position quickly. Our IT group SHOULD be hiring - they're all so overworked - but alas, we have no openings currently. I'll let you know if we do - we're at 18th and Grant downtown.

dunno about exchange jobs, being a unix monkey at a company who outsources all their exchange to CH2M Hill but I had pretty good luck getting my last job off technology-jobs.theladders.com
it's a subscription fee site but they had quite a few good positions when i was hunting last year and if you've got management/architecture level experience it may be a good site for you.

Well, i survived another round of layoffs. They reduced the IT dept from 27 to 15 and tried to give us the warm fuzzies about it.
On a lighter note, I have a 3rd interview with ADT next week for a Sr. Exchange Admin position paying about 10k more than i'm making now. Wish me luck!

Let me guess... RIF from 27 to 15 with no change in workload or SLAs?
Congratulations on being given the opportunity to leave on your own terms and good luck with ADT!

Congratulations on being given the opportunity to leave on your own terms and good luck with ADT! :up:That's exacty it, they've reduced my team down to 3 total from 5 to manage 1000 servers (including virtuals) and to collapse domains and decom 95% of the stuff we have right now.
Should be a good time and hopefully i will be able to leave on my own terms. I know there are more reductions coming.

You won't need luck, you've got it!:)We'll see about that. See the guys that i've been talking to are so laid back and easy to talk to that I forgot during my last phone interview with them that i was being interviewed.
The director mentioned something about their tuition reimbursement program and without even thinking about it I exclaimed "HOLY SHIT! That's awesome". Before I'd realized what I'd said he started laughing. I never claimed to be smart and that was one of the biggest bonehead moves of all time, but at least he got a chuckle out of that.

Thats pretty damn funny. But honestly something like that shows that your not a mindless stiff just going through the motions of the interview. Sometimes enthusiasm even when its "Holy Shit" is good.

 I can send them some pics of you from various parties if you'd like?
Let them know how much fun you'll be at the annual office X-Mas bash.:boobies:
And I wouldn't worry, we've all stuck our foot in our mouths at inverviews.
I did a followup technical interview one night after pulling a week of 15 hour days.
Had a severe case of oatmeal brain and thought I failed miserably.
At the end the interviewer noticed the smokes in my pocket.
He asked how I felt about the fact that the building was a non-smoking facility.
I answered that since I finally quit smoking crack last week, the cigs shouldn't be a big deal.
Been here ten years this month.
Sometimes they like it when you're a little twisted.:eyebrows:
