Hey All, long time no see...... :D December 5th is the annual Toy Run for Children's Hospital. It is a great time for an awesome cause. Last year CSC did this with the HD group and it was awesome with hundreds of bikes. Anyhow, for those interested in attending down here, Lets meet at the old Starbuck's meeting spot, (CountyLine & Quebec, NE Corner), at 0800. From there we hit 470 to Santa Fe, North to Aspen Grove parking lot. It will take 10 min from Starbuck's and I think we can use some good, warm coffee. Here is the link to the Toy Run.......

http://rmh-d.com/toy-run/

Lets have some fun and put some smiles on kids faces.... 8)

Anyone want to meet up on the west side? If its freezin ass cold I would rather not ride past the meeting spot and then ride back to it. I will probably bring one of my kids again this year.

Usually Spidey gives us the assist by making arrangments or contacting the club and letting them know how many of us will be attending. Last year it was a little brisk in the morning, but by the time we made it to LODO I was sweating. No, chaps are not required for women unless you want to have a guy wrapped around you.... :D

I am going to get verified tomorrow afternoon. At least I like going in there. '05's are in. ;) I will leave the chaps thing up to the women but I don't see a problem with wearing them :D

BTW, while different meeting spots would be convenient in the beginning, we would not be able to ride together in the group. It's kinda cool to get 50 sportbikes all together... I understand some folks might not want to double back, but it's not really THAT big of a deal for you, and is the only way we will be together as a group. Trust me - once you get there, you are put in queue and have zero chance of finding your buddies unless you came with them.

Vif I'm gonna move this to general in a few days, this isn't just a south metro thing. ;)

I'm looking forward to this. All I need to do now is go down and get verified, and pick up a warmer pair of gloves and maybe some long underwear, and of course, a cool toy. I hope we have a large group so I can meet as many of you as possible. :)

After you signup online go to RMHD and go into the showroom and directly across from the parts counter there is a counter that says cashier, speak w/ Lynn I believe her name is, and she will verify your registration and give you some goodies.

So you don't have to wait in the insanely long line to do it at the staging area. Picture 8,000 bikers in cold weather gear holding onto bikes, trying to get out their ID's and sign waivers, and you get the idea. You WANT to do this ahead of time.

You might try to call the aforementioned, and explain your locale and the inconvenience of a personal appearance, as I believe she mentioned phone verification might be possible as long as you swear on a bible that you are 18+ year of age. :D

Any forecast more than 48 hours out is a shot in the dark. Within 24 hrs I might believe they're in the ballpark.

The way it usually goes is, the morning is cold as hell. Then the mass of 8,000 bikers and 5,000 bikes, plus you sitting over your motor going 35mph, warms you up quick and you'll lose layers in a hurry. Just bring a backpack to stick them in and you'll be fine.

Even if there's snow people will be in this ride, unless it's downright nasty or dangerous. Even then they'll be in the car driving it.

Unsure what end of the Springs you are on. From about Garden of the Gods, it's about a 45-50 min ride if you go the speed limit. Lack of desire to keep one's license could conceivably drop that down to, say, 20 minutes. Leaving by 7 will give you plenty of time to get there by 8, if you ride like a grandma.
