o.k. aurora is not HR, lonetree, littleton, cherry crk, or any upscale area, but its affordable for alot of people and thats the problem. Aurora has every poeple of every demographic moving in. however, there is alot of people moving out as well, me included. by the way my townhouse is for sale i am moving to lowry area.

Hey, seriously, if it was not so far from my parents and jobs right now, I would have looked at houses in Aurora and/or Parker. Instead we are in Highlands Ranch. I love it here, but did pull into the neighbors house a few times and curse about why my garage would not open

I do not know why people bag on the Springs. It is far superior to Denver and surrounding areas in almost everyway when the consideration is normal day to day living. In Denver and surrounding areas only areas near the mountains are even worth living in and that is only if you can live with the smog/noise/traffic. Someday Colorado Springs will become the filthy, nasty, dirty, congested, crime ridden place Denver and surrounding areas is and once it does, it too will have some of the advantages of Devnver.. larger job market, more cultural/music/theme parks ect.
Denvers getto is bigger than Colorado Springs. Aurora by itself and Denver has a higher crime rate than CS and if you want your car or bike stolen, Denver and surrounding areas is the only place to be. I read about you guys having your bikes stolen, kicked over and trashed. I will not say it does not happen here but it is much more rare than denver and surrounding areas. Our police officers are like Barney Fiffe because they don't even know what crime is compared to Denver and surrounding areas.

i never said Aurora is ghetto, whatever that is. i said aurora is affordable for everyone and that can create a problem sometimes, but that could be worked out. it is very diverse community which is a plus. i want to move not to get away from some people, but move to more appreciating neighborhood like lowry denver. its very expensive, but i think it will suit me.

i live in Aurora, but the city is changing. its becoming more urban, which is cool, but in a weired way i am kind of out growing it. i ilke to walk to places. it is very difficult to meet people in aurora with similer interest and stuff.

It was a comparison, I have some friends in cspd working and retired that have worked in denver, and other big cities like dallas, Lost Wages Nevada, and CS has never seen action like the bigger cities. They may not be Barney but it is more like mayberry than dallas. Also this is second hand info that I got from friend and even thier perceptions differ because they work different areas. I know there is gang activity, if it is more than Denver and surrounding areas I would be very suprised but I could find no information (well some very general below) for comparison so I have to take your word for it.
http://ojjdp.ncjrs.org/pubs/96natyouthgangsrvy/surv_1.html
Side note, I don't think Denver is really a dirty filthy place to live but when people say CS it the worst place to live, I feel the need to rebut and when you compare negitives, Denver has many more negatives than CS.. but it also has some positives, so as long as you are happy where you are, that is great but you don't need to down where someone else lives to make yourself feel better about where you live.
The "wierd vibe" you feel is when Brizz is releasing gas pressure :)

Hmm, intesting stuff here. As for my take:
1) Aurora, the downward slope of Denver
2) Denver, a redheaded bastard step child of a wanna be big city.
3) CO Springs, Sister to Roswell, N.M., where children are lost in their own bubble.
Wow, my two year plan back to San Diego is going pretty well... :D 8) :bananna: :siesta:

Yeah, i live in the nicer part a mile off of denver and when we moved here 7 years ago everything bad had it's place on the side of 6th, now it's on the side of mississippi so I still have another 6-7 miles to go before it hits here but I will be long gone by then :D

Like Denver. I try to avoid that shithole as much as possible. It's the laws and police that I don't like about that place. You can't even walk down the street without braking 2 laws and getting a ordinance violation ticket for $100.

My Fiancee and I just moved out to the Conservatory on the south East edge of Aurora, and compared to where we're from it's choice living for the dollar. We're both transplants from Cali and all I can say is that if you think Aurora is shady or substandard you need to do a bit more traveling. After living in the ]Bay Area for 19 years near places like West Oakland, Pitsburg, Vallejo, Richmond, East Palo Alto etc Aurora is a very reasonable place to live. Just my to cents...

bwahaha, to be more specific, centerville, SD, yankton is where I was born, centerville to this day doesn't have more than 800 residents, and when my grandpa died may 14th last year the entire town was let out of school, work, etc for his funeral and the trip from the church to the gravesite stretched for what seemed like miles.
