Hey Gramps, all...
Here is the information that you asked for, about my fight(s) this coming Saturday.
It's the 2005 North American Pancrase Nationals.
LOCATION:
Broomfield High School - Wilkerson Gym
1 Eagle Way
Broomfield, CO 80020
TIME:
The tournament starts at 9:00 AM.
The time of my particular division I'm unsure of, but there will be plenty to watch, the entire time.
It should be a pretty fun time, provided I don't get hospitalized.
If you're unfamiliar with the sport, Pancrase is a hybrid martial art that is very similar to Jujitsu. The div. that I'll be in, is 200-220 pounds, and is a single, 4-minute round.
You basically win by forcing your opponent to physically tap-out or through verbally "quitting". We can apply any submission technique we can get, such as armbars, kneebars, foot and leglocks, and strangles or chokes. Throws and sweeps are allowed. You can also win through accumulated points, if nobody submits anybody. The only thing that keeps it from being a true MMA fight is that there is no striking in this tourney. (Maybe down the road sometime) ;)
Anyway... hope you guys who aren't going to the parade can make it out. I'll try and rep. the CSC well.
