I may be a little paranoid in saying this, but it seems like there is a lot of law enforcement sightings. Seems like they are monitoring the normal routes in order to keep the speeds down.
Pretty good thinking probably. Every nice day in Feb. and March it seems there have been state troopers lurking our normal routes. If they set the example early then maybe the accidents and fatalities will go down.
Just an observation that i thought was worth sharing.

I would think its an unfortunate sign of the times if they are actually doing what you suspect. I got snared by a Gilpin County mounty a few years back, and he specifically mentioned they were looking for bikes, he claimed stolen ones, but he said alot of the "cityfolk" were using his roads as a racetrack so there was a push on to snare some of them. This was a few years back, and enforcement that summer didn't seem any better or worse than normal.
Its obvious to me they KNOW what the sportbikers use the nice roads for, and have for some time, but why they would choose this particular year to put a big push one I don't know. Haven't seen anything in the papers mentioning a push to snare the "too damn fast in the canyons" crowd.

They are probably only after riders that pass unmarked patrol cars on double yellow.

it's funny you say this and it was in 2001, I am good friends with a deputy up there and he impounded like 3 stolen bikes from people he caught tryin to run.

This being the begining of the riding season, maybe they are trying to catch those of us who have cabin fever and are out streching out the legs of our bikes.
I have noticed them quite thick even while in the car traveling from Colo Spgs to Denver on a daily basis.

I love Gilpin County. They have my favorite Colorado casinos up there, and also have about 9 points of my license.

Neither of us mentioned any names, but it seems that Gramps knows who we are talking about. :eyebrows:
