:) Howdy, I managed to cybertrash a e-mail from a member or a rider of the CSC about Trading my 95 Kawasaki Concours for a 750 Virago.

If he happens to be reading the board, I've reconsidered his offer of the "title for title" trade of his 82 750 Virago. Pls. contact:

BJ Ondo

Thanks, it's appreciated! :D

it was his childhood ride I guess and he said he bought the concours for touring but hasn't done any so he wanted to go back to cruising.

So i'm going to meet up with him, check my fit on the bike, make sure the papers are legit with the CSPD and DMV.

Anyone have experience with these, how do they fit, can the rearsets be adjusted? I'm 6'4" 255 so my next bike was going to be a naked street bike/sport tourer because the sets are relatively flat and easy to shift, granted nothing could be much worse than my current fit.

 No there not the same, the V-twin Virago is a mild cruiser, the ZG1000 Concours is a inline 4cylinder, using the motor from the 89 Z1000R Ninja Sport bike! Just slightly detuned for more "mid-range", ie: usefull power!

Now that your "enlightened" my padawn-learner, the Concours with a "good" rider will totally surprize a lot of so called "ricky racer" bikes in the twisty's. A big bouns is that a Connie will fit a guy of Stuarts size and not force him to pay a bone crack doc, once a week

Take care, ride SAFE but have FUN!

 Stuart with your height and size, you will find the Concours fit's you well and with 7.4 gals. of fuel you'll be able to ride a "loooooong" ways in comfort the race replica riders can't even dream about! 8)

The reason, I'm looking at trading the Sport Tourer for a Cruiser is due to my having "Reiter's Syndrome" and the fact that since I can only work part-time, I don't have the funds to do the "long distance" riding I orginally bought the Concours for 2 years ago. The 2nd. reason is that my favorite riding partner is my lovely wife of 25 years, she's extremely short so she's forced to ride "cruisers". I want to have a bike that's more "compatiable" with the mission and fuel range of her 1994 Yamaha 750 Virago. As they say, so we can ride off into the sunset together! 8)

I'll always LOVE sport bikes, had a couple over the years, still a BIG FAN of MRA and AMA Superbike racing and will continue to go to the races but my days of "riding street sports" or long distance are done. Hope that explains the WHY. Yes, pls. feel free to move this discussion anywhere it's more appropriate and THANKS!

Sincerely

BJ Ondo :)

It was a joke- see  :D  As usual, my tongue was too far inside my cheek to be understood. A common impediment on internet forums.

It was an oversimplification of the sportbike-nonsportbike taxonomy to call them the same, but I've met both in person. FWIW, mine isn't a sportbike either and is therefore the same, yet not the same as both of the above. I'll see your V-twin and your I-4 and raise you a Boxer!

The 2001 BMW R1150GS was that kid you never wanted to cross in high school... Big, Mean, Ugly and capable of kicking ass in any arena- PK

(sorry, Barn & KN. I couldn't resist)

PK , way cool, I had a friend who could "bend the bars" on his old R100GS BMW, thru the corners chasing Gixers thru canyons!! :o

A good rider on a DP bike like yours and others is always a threat with road starts to bend and twist  I thought you were kidding but like anyone else, I must defend the honor of the motorcycle I chose to ride, LOL  ENJOY the 2005 riding season.

Not yet, will have to wait until next weekend to even meet as our schedules don't match and that's only if he doesn't sell it to some guy in CA first.

I can still hope to get out of my little bike before I go to mexico for the summer then military after college ends in less than a year.

Does someone have a new R1 they would like to trade?
We can do a straight swap.

Coud I interest you in a 94 EX500? that's like half an R1. I'll trade you up for just the left side of yours (for R2SL).

Welcome, motorcyclerider!
Good for you for sticking up for your Make & Model!
Stuart, FWIW- I'll bet you get along with the Concours just fine. I've met a few "Connie" owners and they've all been really cool high-speed, high-mileage twistienaughts. Most of them big guys, too.
