I pay approx. $80+tax/year or $7.50/month for my 2000 RC51, liability, through Progressive.

probably because there's not a lot of claims made for RC51, since there's not that many around, so it's cheaper than most.

that would explain why my Bro's 04 999 only cost him $60+/month for full coverage and my friend pays $300+/month for 05 R1 for the same.

they profile you and your bike so (most of the time) your rate will only be as good as how many times people wreck your type of bike and claim it with insurance company.

I had call State Farm is only worth if you have a multiple vehicle with them; Progressive wanted $2900/yr to insure my 05 R1; finally we were able to insure it through USAA since we had insured bikes with them before(they no longer accept new policies for bikes) and now only pay $1400/yr :D Yeh I over pay it.... but my 2pt speeding ticket, age and type of bike doesnt help...

I'm not so sure about that USAA thing. I just started my motorcycle insuarnace with them on the 9th and it only costs me a total of $4 a month. But I also have my truck insured through them too...

He's right about USAA they give all their new Motorcycle Policies to us (I work for Progressive). They don't have to tell you that you are written with Progressive they can tell you that the policy is with them.

I don't foretell the ranks in the fed's so I am not a candidate for USAA, so that's out.
I currently have state farm and pay $224/yr. Since I am changing zip codes...things will change for my rate.
American family doesn't like sportbikes and quoted me $1.4k/yr...

Now I know why so many people 'only' go to the track...with SCR and PPIR going away, the options are limited!

Definately try State Farm

I pay 321/year for full coverage on a 02 R1

This is after they paid 10K to fix my truck after being hit by a drunk driver. I also had my Limited R6 stolen and they paid out 8900 bucks for that and were supper fast in processing my claim. I don't have multiple vehicle either. ;)

for some State Farm might be better, but for us "touring" bike riders it's not. since they go by cc's my 1100 should be more than an R1. but for a sport bike?? SF rocks if a person qualifies for insurance with them... I know i surely dont...

They put me in the range 30-64 despite having my DOB and social...so they know i'm 21 i'm just not going out of my way to tell them about their error. So 49/month for a ZX-11 for a 21y.o. 1 2pt. ticket and no wrecks ever.
