Congrats! I empathize, I just got engaged over the holidays and got a nice little shock when we started pricing this stuff out... My fiance is a teacher, and I have a decent job but a lot of debt to pay off so I know what you're going through. We're trying to get the folks to kick in as much as we can...

It's never too late to call this all off, guys. :dunno:
Just kiddin' fellas. :P
G'luck getting all the coin you can for your respective weddings. Too bad you're not up North here, Jeremy.... I have this little radiator things I'm not really looking forward to dealing with. Oh well...

Jeremy,
I can't give you money but what I say may help.
When my wife and I married 9+ years ago, we were not only broke but seriously in debt and I didn't have a job at the time. Here is what we did:
We had an outdoor wedding at the Brighton ski resort in Utah. (We lived in Utah at the time.) It was summer and we were allowed to use an outdoor patio at the resort for free. Our only expenses were for the minister ($50), some incidentals, and money for pizza and beer at the reception at Molly Greenstreet's.
We had a memorable wedding and some of the pictures were terrific in that outdoor setting.
Then, we went on a 7 day honeymoon and drove through Colorado, stayed at a few special places, watched our meal expenses. It was a fine honeymoon with beautiful scenery and each other.
Total cost for everything = $500.
It can be done. If you have limited financial resources, consider what I am saying.
Best of fortune to both of you,
Lee

Getting married is expensive!!! I got lucky enough that my parents "helped out" (which means paid for it ) but we kept things to a minimum in a lot of respects because I wasn't gonna take advantage my my parents (except when it came to my dress).
My dads words of advice halfway through? "run away to Vegas! Please! I will pay you!!"
Not that you are going to change the way you are planning your wedding because of a bunch of posts (which started through you looking for side jobs), but consider doing something like having the reception at your house instead of at a big fancy place. It was fun for us to just have a big house party (complete with keg)...and it was much nicer to be able to go home and chill on the couch in my giant dress (vs. sitting in uncomfortable chairs and trying to dance in the thing while drunk).

If you are looking for a wedding photographer, I may be able to help you.
I need a hand changing the air filter on my cars supercharger and cleaning the little oil outlet thing, its a bitch to get to, but if you good with cars it shouldn't be a problem.
Then we can work out a nice price for your photography.

Ok, I have a second to reply to those of you I haven't replied to already, and am SO greatful for the instantaneous effort by all of you. God bless the sport bike community 8)
BARN: Thanks man, I'll keep an eye on my PM's in case you find a project.
R1chie: Just talked to Scott, depending on what we agree on, I'm sure I can find time for a radiator flush. I'll PM you after I talk to Scott again.
Lee: Thanks for the ideas and well-wishes man, it's true we live in a great state. I mean, people drive from all over the world to see it!
bulldog420: Thanks for keeping me in mind!
Thanks again for the effort, I'll make sure to stay on top of your offers. I haven't forgotten anyone.

Getting married is expensive.
Yet getting a divorce will cost you more from the head, heart, time and wallet. :(
Hope you guys are in the works with your prenump!!!
Once upon a time, I heard the fiancés family pulls the weight with costs toward the wedding. I have been wrong before though...and first to admit it! To be frugal is wise… :D
Barn has a point…unless she is two months late, it’s not to late. Ditto on the ;) .
Have you listened to the marriage horse race? I can email it to you if you can host it. :D  It's soo fucking true! :D
Here’s some irony for ya! Flip a quarter in the air, call it in the air and if you don’t call it correctly…guess what! Your 50/50 shot of a successful marriage was the foretell.
Shall I go on?
If you call heads and you get tails…once the wedding cake hits the lips, no head for you!!
If you call tails and you get heads…your headed for trouble with a capital ‘M’!! :P
If you call heads and you get heads…congratz! I hope for the best for the two of you! 8)
If you call tails and you get tails…I hope your marriage pulls up the average of success stats! :)
Laughter, confidence, attraction, challenge, flexibility, givers, integrity, happiness and Dr Ruth are some of what’cha need to make it.
Kind Regards,
Dr. Dapper (aka: love doc) ;)
IOU's are funny...yet not accepted. You both owe me a beer!

I know it is every ones big dream to have a "normal" wedding. My wife and I got married at the court house and spent about $65. Just an option you may not of thought about. My bros wedding was about 35k, now to me that seems like a HUGE waste of money. As a matter of fact my brother told me her dad offered them 20k to go to the JOP and get it done, his wife said no way. IMHO it doesnt matter were or how you do it as long as you love one another.
Any who..... good luck and congratulations.

I wanted to post up some pics of a gate/fence I spent last weekend rebuilding. I know it's hard to trust someone you don't know to do work for you, but hopefully these pics will show you I'm not some idiot who woke up one day and started telling people he could do these projects. I had to dig up a rotten fence post (3' of cement as well) and re-cement a new post in. Then I fabricated a new gate and section of fence from scratch. The old wood on the side (in the third picture) shows just how bad of shape the gate was in before. The pickets were mostly craked in half, and the whole thing literally swayed in the wind. I used only corrosion resistant wood and screws, it's very sturdy. If you guys still need work done to houses/properties or vehicles, hit me up. Thanks again!

Yo Jeremy.. Do you have everything you need, to replace CV axles?
I took care of the radiator issue on my car, with Dean's help (of Kim-N-Dean fame), but CV axles I have a feeling are an all-together-different type of project. Time-wise, tool-wise, complexity wise etc...
If you think this is something you can do for me in the upcoming month or so, lemme know. Your workmanship and care with projects really seems to shine through from your pictures, so I'm definitely interested.

Hello all!
Just want to give two thumbs up for the work Jeremy did for me, on the yellow bullet bike. :D
What is a bitchin success story worth? At least repeatable business, for Jeremy has skills.
If I don't hear from ya before the big day, known as Jeremy's "making it legal to kiss" day.
Hope ya have a blast, for invites make crashing weddings a bit easier. I even have my speech ready to go... ;)
