Okay, TurboGizzmo...time to get your arse outta bed and go ride, lol! (again, whip smiley needed here - Mel and I need to express ourselves, dammit ;) ).

I will be out and about this afternoon but without a plan of action so prob best not to arrange anything. However, if you are interested in riding tomorrow - post up.

We could do a nice, easy noobie ride for ya (maybe over to Niwot for late lunch?) then you can decide if you want more or wanna head back home.

All y'all are welcome but leave the hard core/"spirited" riding for another time, please and thankee.

I understand, truly I do (been there, done that). My first group ride was over my head and I didn't really know what to expect or what I wanted out of it. I have since have learned to go my own pace and make sure I don't go on rides that are above my skill level. It does make a huge difference in confidence to have some peeps hang back with ya while you are learning too. The riders that sacrifice and play sweeper are the BEST! Means a lot to us newbs. I still have a lot to learn myself.

Well, currently 'tis only me and my bud (and he's on a cruiser) going so hardly a crowd. I promise you we will be mellow and do what we can to make the ride fun not scary if you want to go. We'll stick to the back roads and we won't be hauling arse.

The bad news is we are thinking of a 10:30 start again but the good news is we won't leave you behind or pull any wild shite on ya. We can meet you wherever you feel comfortable. Post up or PM me if you want to give it a try. :)

Absolutely my pleasure! :D Was a great day, hit me up anytime for a ride. Lol, I wanted to keep going (oh yeah, obsessed) - we'll get ya out on some seriously long rides before the summer is through! (and sour cream :yumyum: ). Oh yeah - and I got my phone figured out, lol...d'oh!!!

:o Oh hell no, girl!! :slap:

Was coupla (?) months before we met. I didn't know what I was doing, could barely control the bike, had no sweeper, didn't know the rules, and was riding with guys who thought it was perfectly acceptable to haul ass, pass on doubs, etc. etc. with a total newb along. Did I mention no sweeper? Freaked my shite. I had no clue.

But I got over it. :violin: :P

But my point to Turbogizzmo (which I think is exactly what he was wanting to know) was to know what kind of ride you are getting into ahead of time so as not to be in that situation.

I know now to "ride my own ride". And for me - I like to ride with other people for the cameraderie and to learn - get with some experienced peeps and improve my skills. I have also learned that riding with folks on sportbikes is different then riding with folks on cruisers (a point I didn't realize until I was all alone on my first "group" ride  ). I don't mind a fast group at all (hell, I envy y'all) - just so long as there is at least one other person besides me in the slow group!

I prefer cruises not races ;) Even this weekend there were some newish scary spots for me, but i need to ride a tad bit out of my comfort zone or else i will never get better. Bat and her cruiser friend were just my speed, of course Bat's friend wanted to push the envelope but Bat was there to knock him down and remind him that i am n00bie :)

What Bat says is correct.. make it your ride.. don't ride above your comfort level... Sure - there will be people who want to go fast.. they will be in the front.. let them go.. don't try to keep up if you don't feel comfortable.. I've seen people go down trying to do just that... Just enjoy, learn and don't let it freak ya out.. people on the board who organize rides are really good about going over the rules, keeping pace, going fast, going slow, having a sweeper, etc.. Just make sure that happens before anyone turns a key...
