Great. This is going to happen no matter how cold it is. The only thing that will stop it is bad road conditions.

En-nasence,
Weather permitting- I’m going to make this ride.
Is there a minimum donation expected?
Do you know if an exact route is planned, and if so what will it be?
Thanks

This memorial ride will let the Jensen family know how much love and support we have for our officers in uniform. They deal with scumbags on a daily basis who are full of negativity towards Law Enforcement, but they still do their jobs to protect us. Officer Jensen was lost while doing his job to clean up our streets from the criminal element that pollutes every city. Please show your support by participating in the ride, or even attending to cheer on the Memorial ride. Some people will be following the motorcycle convoy in passenger vehicles as well.

That short ride route won’t be a problem if we all dress appropriately. Although it’s times like this that I wish my machine had heated grips/seat!
I had better check out the status of my raingear. :)
Thanks for the info guys.
If the weather doesn’t cooperate enough, and this event gets rescheduled, will someone post up info here?

If it isn't white out conditions, then it will be a go. The Colorado Ruff Ryders have conquered worse weather....

I can’t believe Channel 13 Television just devoted the first 3 or so minutes of its airing to THIS RIDE and the Colorado Ruff Ryders! Tomorrow’s route was mapped out on the air, they predict 100 or so bikes will be there, and I saw some of you sportbike guys and gals on TV! Fantastic coverage…
This event will show sportbike riders in a very positive light and support the community in a great cause. Well done Ruff Ryders.

We are striving for a positive image in the community. If we all work together, we can live and enjoy our surroundings without pushing the wrong buttons of those enforcing the laws. Supporting all areas of the community is just as important as supporting one another in our choice of lifestyles. We are all unique and can learn from each other, as well as help each other.

I agree this is just the first step to giving the biker world a positive note instead of a negative one. Dave I'm glad you were able to see the news.
In response to your question, if the roads are indeed snow-packed then the ride will be reschedules to the following week. But I really think that mother nature is going to cooperate with us.

That was a group of good people and a nice little ride. En-nesance did a good job leading- I think that was her up there.
It was a bit cold, and overcast while everyone was socializing this morning, but just as the before the ride prayer was being said, the sun showed itself, and then off we went. The weather was actually excellent- considering.
I’d say about 40 bikes showed up and half a dozen or so cars also followed the group. It was mostly sport bikes, but cruisers and touring bikes were in the mix. It was good to ride though the major intersections without the group getting broken up, thanks to a few of the bikes stopping traffic.
About $500 was raised for the Jared Jensen Memorial Fund- nice.
Our local TV Channel 13 was filming us cornering though most of the major intersections. Channel 5/30 was there too. Channel 13 KRDO News airs tonight at 530pm, and it’s likely some of today’s footage will be aired.

Special thanks to you Dave for making the ride, great to finally meet you in person. A great group of people showed today, and it is nice to see that there are members of the community who can muster the will to make a ride on a gloomy day like today. Thank you all who supported the Memorial Ride for Officer Jensen.

Your welcome LO LO! And nice job in front of the Channel 13 camera- saw your conversation on the 530 news.
One last observation:
There was a moment at the end of the ride, when the entire group had stopped on the street, directly in front of the Police Operations Center (POC) downtown, that was very cool. Every one (with aftermarket exhausts) revved their engines at the same time. It only lasted for about 30 seconds, but the sound was thunderous, kind of like the starting grid immediately before a road race begins. I’m sure everyone in the POC heard the commotion. :)
