I know weekends mean more traffic, but it's supposed to be nearly 70 on Saturday. :) If any of you will be on the road - let me know! Made a few strafing runs on the narrows Monday. The roads aren't bad at all.
Hopefully, my camera mount will be here by Friday. With that, and a suspension tweek, I should be good to go!

I may be down for a group ride, if I go I'd be 2 up though.

Has anybody taken those 218's off your hands? Great tires by the way. $90 is a steal.

It's all you man. I would have wanted 'em, but I just scored some Pilot Powers.

My 1'er came stock with those 218's though, and they're the only Dunlop I've ever liked. Enjoy.

Yeah i've got the same bike as you dude. Dont much like the 218's but $90 is to good to pass up =) plus my M1 rear only lasts me a bit over 2.5k so I need tires all the time.

Your bike probably has a 180 on the read and a 120 - 60 front. I'm guessing cuz its an older 600. Your rear may even be a bit smaller, but i duno... my 01 F4i had 180/ 120 - 60 for sure though, so did my 03 r6.

So you guys doing the canyon? I just hate sand/gravel with a passion so I have been avoiding the mtns. :( Although, truth be told, the back roads had some nasty lil surprises on Wed. too.

Post up a meet place/time? I will prob actually be heading east myself but ya never know.

What roads were you on? I'm figuring on going up Big T and maybe peak to peak. It wasn't that bad when I went up on Monday. I only went up and down the narrows section though. CDOT has been running their sweepers this week. No idea if they cleaned everything up all the way to Estes though. Horsetooth, by way of Masonville was fine as well.

Turbo - Just look at the sidewall on your tires. Ft. Collins Motorsports will mount and balance your tires for a little over $20/tire.

If anyone knows of a better deal this side of a track let me know!

This might be so but they don't sell their tires at "lowest price" unless you get them mounted by them. And I don't think if you bought tires elsewhere and brought them in they would charge only $20.

RockyMtn Cycle (corner of Eisenhower and Boise, behind 7-11) and Elite KTM are $17/wheel if they're off the bike.

You could always try Twin Peaks, are we still getting a CSC discount there?

The Kawi dealer in fort collins (i-25 and mulberry) does it for $19 a tire on the bike.

Backroads/foothills west of Berthoud and Longmont - overuse of sand on a few curves/intersections especially considering how mellow our winter has been. Guess the sweepers hadn't hit there yet. Was no big - just irritating.

I've made some plans already for Sat. but would love to get a road report from ya. Supposed to be nice next week and a quick run to Estes and back might make a nice lunch break one day (if roads are clear).

+1 on these guys...I'm pretty loyal to the Kawi dealer as they did right by me on my bike. I've also heard good things about Rocky Mtn here in Loveland (have a friend who goes there now).

I'll let you know how they are. I just found out I'm babysitting tomorrow. I think I might still be able to sneak out though. :)

No problem. It was great to get out and ride w/you guys. I'll try to put the video on DVD and bring it to the tech thing next weekend. I don't know if Nick told you, but I got pinched by the State Patrol on our second lap around Masonville. He dropped it to a one point and just took my plate. Guess it's time to get the thing registered. Ask Nick how he likes tight left handers, he, he,he... :P

tight left handers...I don't think I have ever been that close to pavement before! (were you talking about the big turn or the near guard-rail incident!?)

I had an awesome time, too bad you got nailed though! My favorite thing about the cop..he looks at the video camera on your tank "is there any tape in that thing?" "umm no, maybe from a few days ago but not today"

haha

Chris - If you want to put it on your server that's fine with me. I've got dial up so I usually don't up/down load anything as it takes forever. It's a good 30-40 minutes of vid. - I'm just glad he got me where he did. I was very tempted to make a run for it. I'm glad I didn't. It wasn't a very good area to do it. I call 1 pt and $50 getting off pretty easy considering what could have happened. He asked if I had "film" in the camcorder. I said yeah, but not from today. I don't have anything against the SP doing their job. It's the local small town mofos that get me.
Nick - Way to pull it back bro. You might want to wipe the rust from that guard rail off you boot though :) Another 150 miles like today and you'll be passing me on that RC!
Great ride. Thanks again

So considering running and a near accident - are you kidding us??? :?

If not, glad I had other plans...

I actually did the Masonville road then up around Horsetooth over to LaPorte (?) then east to Windsor and parts around about there.

Just about anytime! :D I am currently debating whether I can ditch some hours tomorrow and go for a ride (since I couldn't today...might go this evening though :) ). Plus, so far, this weekend is looking good weather wise. :)

I might have to join you for that run one of these days....go visit friends/family afterwards. I grew up in Ft. Collins, and most of my extended family is still there, and one grandma in LaPorte.

I'd be honored. :)

FYI, I don't go balls to the wall though - still working on technique before speed. :)

Hehe, no worries there...I think my balls were smashed to smitherines somewhere beneath the skidding bike and my head cracking into pavement at high speed last summer. And all the kings horses and all the kings men have not been able to put them back together again. :D
