I guess I would be concerned with how the military will treat him and how it will affect his record. Will the insurance comany cover the damage to the car since he did not have a motorcycle endorsment? Did he have insurance on the bike?

I doubt that any insurance provider will honor the policy when they find out that the rider isn't licensed according to state statute. Bummer for your friend --- hope he gets over this without too much hassle.

the term "arrested" simply means he was charged with a crime, it is not necessarily synonymous with being lead away in handcuffs and ending up in a jail cell.
if you want to be completely literal, every time you get a traffic ticket you get arrested and are released on your own recognizance by the officer.

Nope, they can't deny the claim because he wasn't licensed. BUT, he will almost certainly get cancelled and will pay out the @ss for coverage in the future, if he can get it at all.

I am afraid Nick is right. Every company I had would not insure you without a DL or a motorcycle endorsement. They put it in the contract you sign and if you get in a wreck they usually look for any way of getting out of paying it.

Or they pay up to the other parties involved, and who ever he owed money for the bike to. BUT they can always sue him to get that money back.
