Ok so here is something that I have and think it is one of the best forms of technology available.... None the less I use mine in the car where it belongs...
Anyway, so Im sitting in my Economics class last night and someone is wearing one during class. Even kept pulling her hair behind her ear so it was in plain view of others..... 1st off WTF? 2nd WTF? Ok so Im wondering if she has an important call going on during class, or maybe expecting an important call DURING CLASS? Again WTF? Not only do I consider it rude to the professor but what the hell are you thinking? Put it away !!! U look dumb and people will waste time posting about it on forums... haha

Anway, I have heard of some folks having them on their ear when in a club and such.. Blue light all beaming from the darkness.... Again WTF? Are you going to talk on it in a loud club? Whats the point?

Yeah...both of my bosses flew into town a couple weeks ago, they took us to Gumbo's d-town and wore them the whole time they were here.

They must not realize how stupid and rude they are. Use it in the car, not when you are around other people.

I think they look pretty stupid, too, unless they are Secret Service.

They look like Borg's.

Now as I said...Im a big fan of Bluetooth... I even think its ok if you get a call to put it on to take the call to avoid using hands and such...
But to just have it on all the time seems dumb to me... Especially while at a restraunt, or in class, or sitting next to your land line phone....

Has it become a status thing? Im not sure why if so.... Or is it just lazyness that they dont take it off when they are not using it?

None the less to each their own and it does give me some entertainment while in Economics class. :D

I can see that point of it.... I know a lot of folks spend a significant amount of time doing biz on their cell phones... I guess its just odd that they wouldnt want to get that thing off when ever possible.. haha

Who knows maybe it just went well with her shoes ??

My bluetooth headset came free with my phone. I do not wear it though. After seeing people wearing them I have this terrible urge to say Open hailing frequencies  Sorry if this is offensive but it just looks stupid and if you see the other side of the persons head without the headset talking, you think they are insane and talking to themselves.

"Anway, I have heard of some folks having them on their ear when in a club and such.. Blue light all beaming from the darkness" They remind me of the Borg. :D http://www.motox.org/forum/borgsmile.gif

Oh man, you guys need to come to my school. There is this a-hole who sits in class with his stupid blue tooth on all night (I have never seen him take a call) but wait it gets better.

This ass rocket wears a leather riding jacket like it's a regualr coat. I have seen him wearing it when he drove to school. This guy is the king of the douche wads, I think if I destroy him the rest will fall as well.

Lt Inverted open hailing frequencies.
It doesn't piss me off. Perhaps stupid is the wrong word. How about geek looking sound :) Maybe I will get used to it but when I see someone using them and talking to thin air. I start to chuckle.

Simple solution... Get her number, and call it every 42 seconds. (Block your number though so she can't call you back!) If nothing else, the stupid headset blinking like a christmas tree will be entertaining, but more than likely she'll either get annoyed and put it away, or the professor will and tell her to lose it or lose the class.

who gives a crap if people have those things stapled to the side of their domes. It would be much harder for them to use it, if they had it inserted in one of their body cavities..... you figure it out.....

:spit: at Berth's picture!!! that's classic! I want to get one of those for when my boss comes to town, and not take it off. Imagine if that thing had a vibrate feature...it'd make everything blurry!

I saw some guy playing pool one night wearing one the whole time. I don't think I ever saw him talk on it, but he sure looked cool.

Like so many other things, it's just a status symbol. People desperately want to look cool and they don't realize they just look retarded.

I have to agree that people think it is a status symbol. But status of what? They cost 99 bucks (a little more for the "cooler" ones), I got a free one with my free phone that any teenager with a credit card and year contract could get.

yeah i saw some douche bag wearing one while he was bowling the other night. he never even got a phone call and he had his phone on the table anyway.

also a few weeks ago i saw some guy sitting at a restaurant with his wife eating and he had it on the whole time what the hell is that.

i just want to walk up to these guys and smack then in the back of their heads and knock it right off. im all about using headsets in the car, i use mine all the time but i don't just walk around with it on my ear.

and talk on it in public, trying to look chic. 8)

Geezzz it just gets on my gf's nerves when i wear mine in the car due to that blue light, but when people trying to show off their "new" bluetooth headset i say "Ive had mine for over a year now" because i am just an @$$ like that ;)

But it does come in really handy and is really clear sounding from the other end....speaking of it i need a new one, mine is giving up the ghost....

Here is an arguement in favor of one IN the car.

On my way home from work last night. Getting on I25 at 20th St. Im tootlin along and this car changes several lanes and damn near takes me out. After realizing she was about to put me to an early death she swervs back into her lane. As I get up next to her I notice her J-Lo sun glasses, talking on a cell phone up to her ear, a$$ didnt even give a crap. :321:

She could use a Bluetooth headset

Perhaps one of the hugest pet peeves of mine is talking on a cell phone in a restraunt. Movie as well. The people who talk loud enough for everyone to hear always crack me up..... Have you no manors heathen ?

Actually "they" did a study, and found that hands-free devices offered NO benefit to drivers vs holding the phone, because their attention was still being diverted to the conversation. In fact it sometimes made it worse, because now their hands were freed up to mess with something else.

I hate talking on the phone when I'm driving. Sometimes it cannot be avoided, but most of the time I won't even answer it. I have voicemail, and don't have that much to say anyway.

Status as in anything to get them noticed. I think they are trying to say that they are so cool that they need a headset on all the time because the sheer volume of calls that they get. I don't really know but it makes as much sense as spinning hubcaps. :guns:

The spinning hubcaps make perfect sense...

Everyone knows that aliens are attracted to shiny objects, so when they invade, they'll eat those guys first. Giving the rest of us a chance to get away...
