So what does water in gas look like? Will it form small balls on the bottom of a can like mercury?

ya kinda, gas is just slightly lighter than water, so it will float on top, if there is a small amount of water in it u may not see it unless it has set for a while, if the gas is agitated (fresh out of the pump) u will not be able to see the water, if the gas has set for an extended period, then replace it, it is bad and not worth the hassel, will make car/bike..what ever run like

Gas was from the pumps a month ago. In a 5 gallon fuel jug I had about 1" of gas left over from riding. I would say there was at least 1/4 cup of water??? in the corner when I tilted it on its side,

so there is only mabe 1/2 gallon? yes it is water, if there is that much it may be from condensation in the jug, i would toss it i relise that gas is eqpencive, but save your self a headeach and toss it...or if it is such a small amount fill your car, drive 30 miles or so then dump it in there if u dont want to waste it, 1/4 cup water will dilute in a 10+ gallon tank, but i would not recomend using it in your bike scence it has such a smaller tank, it will run like crapola as i stated earler.....u pickin up what im throwing down?

Oh I dumped it already. I was just trying to find out if it was water so I could tell the source of the gas they may have a problem.

A local gas station 'somehow' got a bunch of water in their 'tanks' and cars who filled up were dieing. The vid located on the link below has a mechanic pouring some of the 'gas' from the tank out and it was 1oz gas 16oz water i think. It'll show it in a pop bottle. (gas sits/floats on top of the water)
