View Full Version : Any interest in a Mother’s Day Ride?

Hey all,
I’m planning on a sporty canyon ride Sunday the 14th, as long as the weather forecast cooperates.
I haven’t ridden with many of the newer CSC SoCO folks, and wouldn’t mind showing them some new roads. I also would like to see a few familiar faces from the past. Let’s ride people!
I’m open to about any twisty route, and would like to depart out in the morning from somewhere in the Springs. I’m thinking of traveling around 200-250 miles with a possible lunch stop along the way, and a round trip time of about 5-6 hours.
If anyone has a better plan, or just wants to ride, post up!
Edit May 10th
Time: Meet at 9am and ride out at 930.
Meet Location: Black Bear Coffee Shop, in the Springs on the on SW side of town.
Here’s a good read for newer riders. http://www.cosportbikeclub.org/club/rules.html
Here ya’ go Frank.

Glad to know you’re still around town Frank! It would be great if you could make this ride. But if you can’t, tell Princess Jessica that she is invited, and that I’ll buy her fuel and her lunch if she shows up! :)

Sounds pretty darn good! 250 miles is kinda far for these old bones but I suppose I could man up and just ride! Where's the meeting spot?

Dave, how about turning this ride into a trackday at PMP? Or are you craving the streets instead?

Paul,
You’re a mind reader. I’m tempted, but my tire situation might not allow it. I’m also concerned about the weather in Pueblo Sunday- high winds (38MPH gusts) are in the forecast.
I’m watching the high country forecast for Sunday as well, and it still looks OK. But heck, how often do the weather forecasters get it right??
I am looking forward to the slower pace, and the scenery of a street ride too… Hmmm

I'm in for sure Dave.
Not sure what bike I'll be riding
but I need to get out on the streets.
For a suggestion for a route how bout
a southern loop say,to the castle?
Keep us posted on a meeting spot and time.

Isn't there a track day @ PMI on the 26th?
I think I will be able to attend that one.
I need to get some issuses resolved myself
before I get out on the track.
My 2 cents.

The Southern loop and Castle sound like a good plan.
Here's what I'm thinking for a meeting spot and time:
Meet at the Black Bear Coffee Shop. It’s on the South West side of CO Springs, in the Broadmoor Bluffs Safeway shopping center- Academy Blvd and Hwy 115. There’s fuel station in the center as well.
Time: Meet at 9am and ride out at 930.

Track would be nice… however, I don’t trust taking Jessica’s bike on the track..
Anyway…
Bash… It is great to hear your are back on your bike and have recovered well. It will be nice to ride with you again..
Dave, can you post a map of this location… I’m not too familiar with that area… Give me a call when you get sometime… I know we both live off powers, maybe we can head out together…

Today’s ride was cool! Good people, clean roads, and the scenery in the canyons always makes me feel like I’m on vacation. Clocked about 210 miles, and managed to stay dry by riding around the storm. Good to see everyone, and thanks to Bash and Ray for keeping a perfect pace.

I haven't been on this forum in a while so I hadn't been checking for ride postings.
I am the fellow who warned you guys about the 2 rolling radar units in Canon City near where you stopped at the intersection of Highways 9 and 50.
Dave, thanks for introducing yourself. I'm still not sure how you knew it was me; we've never met. And now, I know what your eyes and nose look like (through the helmet visor). :)
Maybe I can join you guys for a ride in the future.

Thanks to all for the great time.
For those that have never been up to see Bishop’s castle, Dave preserved the moment with pictures.
