So I was at this gas station today. Filled up came out from paying and there are 5 other bikes there. So i say to myself, awesome more people to meet who ride..
Well let me say this... bunch of A**HOLES, would not even talk to me. Walked up said hello, etc.. etc.. they ignored me. I hope to god it was not any of you.
Sorry for venting, just was not a cool thing to do. I thought because we are all sport riders that there is an unspoken bond. wow that sounds cheesy but you know what i mean.

... that usually keeps people from talking to me as well.

Please...
You're the one that said that you "coldshoulder the unknowns".
If you ignore somebody and don't take the time to talk to them and see what their riding background is like, how can you pretend to know what their riding ability is?
I can appreciate being somewhat aprehensive of riding with somebody that you don't know... It happens pretty much on every CSC ride I've ever been on though!
But you know what we (adults) do?
Yes, that's right.... We talk with the unknown person and find out what their scene is.
Ask them questions.
See if how long they've been riding. Do they race?
Maybe gauge their riding maturity via an actual conversation.
In a lot of instances, I know that we will actually even go over rules that we abide by when we ride. (If an unknown wants to ride with us). You know.... Explain the very real possibility of accidents, cops, weather, distance, etc...
You, for whatever reason, think that you know something about somebody who you've never even met, and give riding (and riders) a bad name, by simply ignorning them. Then you try and rationalize it by spouting off this middleschool shit about how you don't want your ride spoiled because of somebody making a mistake. Jackass.
What a embarassment you are, to not even introduce yourself and say "hi" to a fellow rider.
If you were a real man, you wouldn't have ignored this guy.
Somebody respectable with real convictions (like you're trying to pretend to portray), could have easily been polite, made brief smalltalk, and then simply said that this is a ride that you'd prefer to take with the group of friends you had gathered. No hard feelings. Maybe mention that you might meet again another time, or hell... Even suggest they visit the CSC website, if they are looking for people to ride with!
You're a coward and an unfortunate member of this club, stunna.

amen barn.
The funny thing was, I had a date to go pickup. I was not looking to ride with people, I am new to the area, and its nice to meet people who obviously have a common interest. You ride I ride, wait thats something we have in common. Maybe you would be cool to hang out with. But instead they exactly like Barn said, showed me their immature side.
Now I realise people like this exsist and will always exsist but thought that 99% of us in this sport were not like that.
I look forward to meeting the rest of you, you have welcomed me with open arms (and a few wise cracks :) ) I can already tell you are a good group of people.

He knows now, that it was somebody who's part of this group (albeit an internet group), but still.... He knows that he is a member of "our" club, and still hasn't said "my bad", or "sorry newb", or anything! All I've heard is "You (and people like you) were ignored and will continue to be ignored, because you might crash and fuck up our fun."

So now someone who avoids the social, and obviously cliche-ish nature of a club, is supposed to apologize for not wanting to instruct newbies in the fine art of not getting themselves killed while riding?
And I'm supposed to apologize for a personal, non gregarious preference? Wow...I sure didn't catch those nuances in the rules.
Thanks for the invite to the picnic though, but I'll be riding from Ohio to Denver on backroads...which I view as a good deal versus the apparently required socializing.

Somebody saying hello, and showing interest in you and your friends shared hobby, can be dealt with, with a little more class than simply ignoring. Even if you are disinterested in socializing.
And I'm supposed to apologize for a personal, non gregarious preference? Wow...I sure didn't catch those nuances in the rules.
The only nuance you seem to have missed, is one called politeness. Someone should be apologizing to you, for letting that lesson miss you.

Fortunately for you, one day when you pull a boo-boo without anyone else's help there will be people there to help you, to maybe compress the wounds, to keep you alive. Hell, those people might even recognize you repeating stupidity and teach you, instead of adopting the mentality that you're just some poor inexperienced schmuck not worth the two minutes of conversation it would take to possibly save your quality of life.
I'd rather ride too bro, but you know what? I remember where I came from. We were ALL that noob rider once (even you), and we all hopefully learned how to minimze the risk and have fun out there. Some of that was through people sharing their experience, and teaching us what their journeys have taught them. Short of poppin' out yo momma's womb knowing one-down-5-up and what countersteering was, I'd say you were once the idiotic noob who could barely ride too. Fortunately for you, someone took the time to shelve their ego for an afternoon or two and help you become a better rider.

I dont know if this is a restatement (didnt read everyones post... but I think it was covered)...
Why not even say hello????? Whats wrong with saying hi... talking to the 'noob' or 'squid' whatever you want to call the other rider... thats fine... thats your opinion on their riding skill etc and just polietely say
"hey, were kinda a tight crew today give me a shout on MHM or CSC board sometime and you can hook up w/ us then"
my god... what has it come too when even other riders wont give you the time of day... I can not speak for all of the street crowd (though when I was riding on the street it did feel this way) but the racing crowed is like a freaking family... competition or not 9 out of 10 guys will be there to help you up or lend you something to get you going. Hell regardless of being another rider or not... what kind of appearence are you giving off to any other human being! Riders get enough crap as it is w/o someone being a prick to someone who is not in the 'crew'

mclark32,
I'm sorry people were so rude in response to your open attempt at communication and riding fellowship. When your guard is down, it hurts even more.
When something like that happens to me, I let it remind me that it's a rude and ugly world and getting uglier all the time, and that's why it is important for ME to be polite to others, to dampen the societal trend toward extreme rudeness.
I can't change the world but I can have an impact on every person I personally come in contact with. If I'm polite and friendly, then I'm certain there is one less rude person on the planet.

OPS proves himeself to be yet another in a long line of moronic riders involved in their own little miopic clic who think they're better than everone else.
I'm leaning heavily towards the idea that there needs to be a redefined concept of the 1%'er in the sportbike world - instead of the original/cruiser definition of 1%'er - we have the "Sportbike 1%'er": he/she who thinks they're too good to be bothered with comradery and the greater brotherhood of riders because they believe they are too cool, superior to, or purposely oblivious to said brotherhood.
My perspective: Shuffle off and go away OSP. Go troll another forum.
About the only thing I can hope for you is that you never need the help or brotherhood of the CSC or any other riding club/organization around here. Something tells me you'd probably get it because the aforementioned brotherhood you could care less about - but you certainly don't deserve it.

I think the reason that OPS was not allowed on the mHm forums is becasue he can actually spell and make complete sentences. Just a thought. :D

AMAZIN' UPDATE!!
Under a new ISP I was able to sign up with mHm last night!! ;)
But there apparently isn't much activity goin on besides people resigning from leadership positions high in the stunna community and the most popular topic ( and about the only one posted in within the last 48 hours ) had something to do with the Prez being a porn star and some compromising pictures.
And I suppose if I don't post some pics they'll kick me out again, even with lackin skillz.
Apparently the rules require a post every month or they'll kick you out as well. :?

MHM sounds like the most difficult club in the world to remain a member of.
