I need to get both front and rear done… in the past I have always taken it up to Grand Prix… but had a bad experience with there service dept. and would rather take my business elsewhere. What I’m looking for is a good deal on some Michellin Pilot Powers for a 04R1. I remember a member telling me on one of the rides that there is a shop that has a two for one deal on the Pilot Powers… but I forget which shop. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance,
Neil

Dang Neil... You just missed me on a set of Pilot Powers, too. Oh well...
I say you just find your best deal on the skins, and pay ol' Dean (of Kim-n-Dean fame) to mount & balance them for you. He's very reasonable. :D
By-the-way... I got a couple countersprockets that are for your bike, if you're in need of a swap anytime soon. See the For Sale Forum.

bike shops around here? good deals? I have a two for one special for you.
buy the first 190/50ZR17 for $380. and get the second free.
Or buy the 190 rear for $305 and get a 120/70ZR/17 front for free.
nothings "free"
I was mostly being facetious. You can get a set of Pilot Powers (120 front and 190 rear) for 250 mail order or even apex I think in the springs.

Get some DOT race take-offs (you can easily score a set for $50), they will stick better than the Pilot Powers too. :D TK Motorsports or TFOG will mount them nice and cheap. I have several sets of take-offs if you're interested. If you're stuck on getting new tires, Performance sells them cheap, but they don't mount them. :|

Neil,
I just got a set of Pilot Powers for my SV a few weeks ago. I called around to a few shops and checked Performance for the best prices. Believe it or not, it was just as cheap (and less of a hassle) to have TFOG order them and put them on. Really rock bottom prices over there and a couple great guys. I would highly recommend their prices, service and entertaining conversation. Their prices on the tires were within a few dollars of even the cheapest internet dealer that I found.
Best,
Neal

If you're interested, I have a set of Pirelli Diablos with only ~200 miles on them for $180.
