I decided to start a new thread to make sure we can get a ride together for this upcomming weekend. I just wanted to make sure to have the current dates so members will take a look. I would like put together a Sunday ride if at all possible that way Brian is able to go because Sunday is his only day off. I know if we leave early (8:30) as we did on the last run, we can make it back in plenty of time for the Moto GP races which start at 2:00. I'm up for Bishops and lunch, meeting the Denver guys or whatever we can put together, as long as we can get out and ride. Count me in for Sat or Sun

Sunday I work at 12 but could push it to 1ish so I'd be down for a ride if we could meetup early as suggested. Morrison conoco? Castle Rock? Downtown? A-Town? All are fine with me.

Well early sunday seems good for everyone. Are you all up for a mixed denver/springs ride? I'm interested in meeting some of the ppl I've "known" for a few years.

I have work every saturday. So no saturday rides for me. I always have sunday open. If its a preplanned ride I can normally take the time off, given enough heads up, say about two weeks.

hello to all. i just joined the site, and i live in flornce so i thought i would let you guys know that if you are planning on the bishops castle ride that hwy 115 just south of penrose is closed. you will need to take hwy 50 west towards canon city and then take hwy 67 south into florence. it will add about 15 minutes to the ride. if you need any more info. feel free to post or e-mail me. by the way, i might try to make it to some bishops rides.

Jesters 636 do you mind taking the lead on this one? Seems we will definitely need some route planning to pull this one off without frustrations. Seeing as almost everybody prefers Sunday, lets confirm it for early Sunday (just please god not 6 am like some people) and go from there. It would also be cool to either have a northern group come down here, or meet up with some of them up North. *excited* Hopefully no more rain until the first snow :)

And I thought you wanted to break your bike in :eyebrows: what's the deal ???

Since most are in agreement that the ride will have to start early, we would like to start out fueled up and ready to hit the road by 8:30 Sunday morning at the Black Bear Coffee Shop (6550 South Academy Blvd). In this little shopping center there is a Shell station as well as a Safeway. It is really easy to find, it's right on the corner (NW) of Hwy 115 and South Academy Blvd. I know a few of the group have plans and need to be back in town, so we will try to keep the ride moving. Show up early, with fuel (Puck), and have a nice cup of coffee. The route to Bishops and back has been discussed and planned, but the route can be canged depending on what the rest of the group wants to do. Please post if any questions or concerns. I hope you all show up, pray for sunny skies!!!!

would the people going on the Bishops ride be opposed to me inviting a couple of my friends to come along for the ride?

SS929
Sat Jul 15th, 2006, 09:01 PM
At this point I'm not sure who all is going to be on the ride and who will be attending the service.
I will still be going. I never met Gene and would feel entirely too awkward to be present at such a solemn event. I can’t see a reason why your friends couldn’t come along. Just as long as they abide by the Rules and Signals http://www.cosportbikeclub.org/club/rules.html (http://www.cosportbikeclub.org/forums/../club/rules.html) for the most part.
BTW would you be riding up to meet us at the Black Bear Coffee shop. Or are we meeting you in Florance somewheres?

hey yall... well.. for somne reason i thought we were meeting at the black bear diner that is also on south academy (like 950 s. academy blvd) right across from the mall... when it got to 8:30 and no bikes were even there i figured i must be in the wrong spot so i rode up all of academy looking for another black bear coffee shop to no avail....

i rode right by the damn place though, i rode to the end of academy and back. really kinda upset i missed it, i planned on it all weekend... next time for sure i guess. have fun guys.

godspeed409,

that sucks man. I guess we should have been a bit more specific about where the meeting spot was. It was my first time to the coffee shop, but I knew where it was because of the Shell that's close to it. Maybe next time man...

Is your wife a new rider or ?

Lee
Mon Jul 17th, 2006, 01:40 PM
Sully,

My wife's not new to motorcycling. She's on her third motorcycle and quite adept when she is rolling. She has put about 10,000 miles on 2 wheels in the last 4 years. But, because she is only 4'10" tall with a 26 inch inseam, we've had to have her bike suspension and seat modified to get her feet to reach the ground. And making sure she can stop in an area where she can get her feet on the ground (fairly level) and that is not slippery (sand, oil, etc.) is a priority. So, I plan our rides pretty carefully. She can't stop just anywhere.

I wouldn't want our limitations to interfere with a club ride.
