Hate to be a noob but what is r2sl?

Racing to Save Lives (R2SL for short) is a charity organization raising money for various childrens charities...Ralph could probably be of more help on the history, but I believe that they were started right around here and they are chaired by several CSC people.
Here is a link to their website: http://www.racing2savelives.org/

:slap: Why the hell do you care the calendar "kicked" back up all the sudden.

January is "angelblueeyes" her name is Jessica and she is from the Springs but recently moved to Denver. April is Rachel, she is married to Slacker. You heared wrong, we were waiting on some of the final ads from sponsors and thats what held up the calendar from coming out in 2006. Not that I really had to give you any explanation.

and as an fyi, it started in late 2005 making it impossible to have ready by 2006, so it was decided that it was to be released for 2007.

Do they give a discount on larger shipments ? Does it really cost $5 to ship ONE calendar ???

I'm surprised that only 15 were ordered.. and just for the MRA banquet ?? :wtf:

 Maybe 30-50 could have been ordered for the rest of the CSC people interested in purchasing them ? :dunno:...

Mel and Sully, I knew you were fast women....just didn't know you were THAT fast. You two could change my opinions of Suzuki's :)

Thanks meng! working on something else later this year for 2008 with the new bike.

Yep, that's Alan's R1, though it's been sold so for next year I'll only have one bike but what a sexy little suki zuki it is!

:banghead:

I think it is discounted for larger shipments. One of the biggest complaints of the last one was that they weren't even close to all being sold and that the whole thing took a huge hit on costs. So we figured it would be nice to only sell as many as we can by having them on that website.

I wasn't the one who decided how many to order 15 for the MRA banquet, I was surprised that Jen decided on just 15 but if we need more I'm sure we can get more. Its definately better not to get too many.

Honestly Sully, I doubt 50 calendars would sell to CSC people alone. 30 mayyyybe, but not probable.

I had no idea that shipping would be $5 a calendar but since there isn't a "hosting fee" by cafepress.com I am sure they take the extra $2.50 as their dues.

If you want to see if Jenny can order more, then send her a PM, she hasn't been on here lately but checks those.

AshliRider44
Mon Jan 8th, 2007, 10:09 AM
It kind of feels like the CSC peeps were not even thought of :(

Obviously (not taking this from your comment) its very hard to please alot of people on here  Putting the calendar on CafePress was supposed to make things as simple as possible and to cut down on costs. CafePress doesn't charge a "hosting fee" so I'm sure (like I already said) the extra 2.50 they have from shipping is what they keep for that. For anyone who hasn't ordered yet and wants to, send me a PM maybe we can come up with a list of people and order in one shipment to save you all a couple bucks, for those of you who already ordered, thank you so much and its definately all going to a great cause. If you are upset that the other people may save a buck or two let me know and I'll reimburse you myself. Hopefully the bitching can stop now. :)

I'm not on here to bitch Ashli... but sure, I do have questions about it ... And I'm not suggesting that you take calendar orders for one bulk shipment either... You're taking offense by something you had no say so in.. correct ??? You say the $ is going to a great cause ???? How much... what's the % ? Do we even know how many were printed for 2005 and how many were actually sold ?? This info can be posted in the Calendar forum if it's confidential.. no problem.. Pre-ordered on the CSC site would have been another suggestion/idea to get an idea of how many could have been printed... just my .02cents.. What's done is done.. soo..

100% of sales is going to R2SL, by keeping the calendars on Cafe Press we could donate more money to them by avoiding calendars not being sold. By only printing 15 ourselves we saved on printing costs and will be able to donate the rest of the sponsor money to R2SL along with all the money we make from sales on the website.
2005 I dont know how many Tink originally printed but I do know that 25+ were not sold and were attempted to sell at a cheaper price.
Like I said if anyone has a problem with the shipping costs let me know and we can figure something out.

Jenny, how come the earth wobbles on it's axis and does not have a perfect axial rotation?

Kim-n-Dean
Mon Jan 8th, 2007, 11:11 AM
Since each page of the calendar is only 8.5" X 11", why didn't we just print them ourselves. That way there would be no shipping costs and the price to buy could have been more reasonable...

If your worried about the binding process. Looks like Cafe uses the $10 multipule hole punch (available at any Office Max) and the .02 ribbon binder...

Becuase the earth is not a perfect sphere, homo. The rotational effect at the equator causes the Earth to actually be "thicker" along those latitudes. Don't you know anything!

Opps... Sorry Jenny, I didn't see that you were fielding this one.

My thoughts.....

I hope that the quality of the printing is good at Cafe Express, I have heard that the quality is not very good....this worries me some and being one of the sponsors and photographer, I am not happy with this. Sorry.. but just my opinion.

We could have done the printing here in town, I have a deal with Mike's Camera to print my photos when customers order them, they order from my website and the stuff is shipped automatically to the customer, and then they send me the check for my profits. They do calendar printing as well and the quality is excellent. So maybe next year..

When I asked Jen she told me it wasn't binded because that was something I didn't want this year so thats lame.
As far as this year goes, the calendar is done so as far as suggestions go can we take them elsewhere please?
Just for the record Jenny and I really did bust our asses on this calendar. Trying to coordinate sponsors ads and girls pictures is not that easy. Alot of the dedication just wasn't there when we needed it the most. Sorry if the calendar is a disappointment to some.

Seeing the route that was taken for printing, I'm just suprised no one asked if I would print the sucker. I get asked all the time to print stupid shit that people want really big versions of. The calendar would have been something worth while.

Sully and MJ, i've got some hook ups with Johnson and Johnson Q-tips so that you can optimize your lent sculptures! i'll even donate some of my own so you can get an idea of how it works.

Hind-sight, it's 20/20, ya know...

Seeing the route that was taken for printing, I'm just suprised no one asked if I would print the sucker. I get asked all the time to print stupid shit that people want really big versions of. The calendar would have been something worth while.

Nice work girls! The calendar looks great and I'm glad you made it come together for 07. If there are extras at the MRA banquet I'll pick one up there, if not I'll order one.

You rock!

I got my calendar last night, and I must say that I am truly impressed! :o The entire package (artwork, design, print & paper quality, etc.) are far superior to the 2005 edition.

Great job ladies!!!

I received my calendar via Cafepress and UPS. It got here fairly quick.
I agree that the photos are tastefully done and the design and quality is excellent. I also think this calendar is much better than the 2005 version.
Thanks to all who contributed in making it happen, especially the beautiful ladies, who for sure aren’t just posers!
