This board doesn't have too many stunntas on it...you might try Mile High Madness as a better souce of information.
I suspect that you are gonna find that bike and parts preferences are about as varried for the stunt world as they are for every other genre of sportbike riding. Personally if I was gonna stunt, I would do it on a Honda, mostly because I would cry before purposefully trashing a decent bike :D

better yet, I saw that mile high mad site and there isn't much of anything posted on that site. I would recommend going to www.streetfighterz.com (http://www.streetfighterz.com), they have pretty much gone as mainstream as you can get with it and also www.sportbikes.net (http://www.sportbikes.net) has a pretty well populated stunterz sub cat. My recommendation... college papers should be written on something people will want to read. Stunting...? might as well write about skateboarding or something. If you want to write a good paper, that's interesting, and on a subject to include sportbikes that's worth reading... how about on the motorcycle community? how people can be stuck on the side of the road having problems and other motorcyclist are compelled to help them out, how eveyone gives a wave or ackknowledgement to each other, etc... Then you can come back and get some good information from this board along with others too.

just my two cents,
Big Ups yourself

How about writing a paper on Motorcycle Roadracing (http://www.mra-racing.org/)? It's not as popular as NASCAR here in the US (outside of the motorcycle community) compared to Europe, but it is legal and sanctioned by the AMA (http://www.ama-cycle.org/). 8)

If your serious about researching stuntin', then try logging into MTV's "True Life" a little while back they had "True Life: I'm a stunta" featuring Kyle Woods, Geared Up, and Toni D. They talked about their struggles to find sponsorship, parts, etc. Kyle Woods did an excellent job comparing it to a sport like the "X-games" and how he's trying to bring it to the mainstream.

Also speed TV's "Superbikes" might be another place for information although I despise the fuck out of that show.

Dlish and Eaheer on the board here are pretty good stunter's so maybe they could point you in a good direction as far as mods, etc.

Good Luck! I've always been a stunter at heart! :)

Talk to DLISH in the dsfriders club, they are off the hook, and very knowledged about the sport. mHm doesn't really do any stunting anymore. We do it for fun, not as a thing we need to do. Accasional wheelie here and there is pretty much it anymore. Denver Street Freestyle, and Felony Freestyle is your main source of stunting in Colorado. Good luck on your paper, hopefully no negative thoughts come out...
