My carbureted CBR6 runs strong at the higher rpm’s, but has always hesitated slightly under acceleration around 6-8k rpm. So I took it to the new tuning shop in Colorado Springs that I heard about at a Bike Night.

Frank, who fairly recently opened the doors at SR Tuning, put the bike on his dyno and confirmed the trouble and provided me with a horsepower and torque verses rpm chart. A telling piece of paper- torque and horsepower were dropping off significantly at 6600rpm. Ouch.

He recommended clean the carbs, plugs, and air filter, install a dynojet kit, and dyno tune the bike. This is definitely not something I could do in my garage, and the large maintenance shops in town that are experienced with Japanese bikes don’t have the hi-tech tools for this job. I think a dyno chart is the only way a tech can prove to me that this kind of trouble has been resolved, so Frank had his next project bike.

He had the bike for just 4 business days, and most of that time was waiting for parts to arrive, when he called me back to his shop to pick up the bike. He provided me before and after dyno charts and allowed me to run up the bike on the dyno. The CBR now has 19% more torque and 21% more horsepower at 6600rpm! And there’s a tad more torque and horsepower throughout the entire rpm range. Nice. The total price out the door was $353.00, which seemed reasonable compared to other shops.

I thought Frank was personable and professional and would recommend his shop. The motorcycle community has a great new resource. http://www.sr-tuning.us/ (http://www.sr-tuning.us/) Now I need some warmer weather!

My props to Frank over @ SR Tuning as well.
He achieved a gain of almost 15 HP with just
the Rapid Bike 3 and a set of BMC filters for my bike.
He is moving into a larger space soon.I will post where
when I know.

Ditto to BASHED...Frank's new location is 2905 Gunnison, Colorado Springs, CO 80909. His number is (719) 573-4443. The web site is www.srtuning.us (http://www.srtuning.us) and email stuning@qwest.net. SR Tuning also has aftermarket parts (prices can't be beat). Frank guarantees his work and loves what he does.

See for yourself!!!!!!!
