So, some of you know about my incident over Labor Day. I finally got some pics back of the progress I've made on my Zed. Let me reiterate...all of the damage was cosmetic, but the insurance company wanted to total my baby. Uh uh...no way!

Here's a start...side-by-side tail section

completed fairing/cowling replacement...

Right cowling with dented tank. Yep, I'm gonna try and replace the tank too. The dent is so bad that it isn't something that can be worked out. It's still usable and can hold gasoline, but I'm hoping to replace it anyway.

For women on the forum who think they can't do mechanic work on their bikes...uh uh. I didn't think I could do this either, but I did. All it took was unscrewing some bolts and removing some washers. Do everything in reverse in order to put on the new and you're done.

Yeah, I know. I think Dougie's havin an identity crisis right about now. Ha! j/k Doug.

Oh, and btw, just wait till I get up to about your riding level, like in about 20 years or so and we'll see how fast I can get the ol' Zed to go...um, if I can wrench my butt outta my wheelchair by then.;)

Oh wait, I'm never gonna be in a wheelchair...not if I have anything to say bout it...so, it's on Bueller...um, in about 20 years.

You'll still be a coon's age younger than me in 20 years. But I will probably be broken down enough that you could take me easy by then.

And this is nothing new for Doug, hell he had a orange Suzuki before this, so he knows suck.

Orange? That's ok, Doug...really (snicker).

So, do racoons really only live 5 years. You're not that much older than me, Bueller...so, look-out young whipper snapper, I'm gonna be in training for the next 20 years. We could both bring our crutches with us out to the track if that'd make ya feel better.

Oh...wait...what was this thread about? Oh yeah, my baby...the Zed! Can't wait to get her all shiney and spiffied up. Hopefully, just in time for summer riding.:)
