Ok, this may be a stupid question, but I am not afraid to go there.

I have a perf jacket now, which I like but can be a little chilly.

I have the opportunity to get a non perf jacket for a decent price.

Overkill or good idea? :dunno:

My jacket is perf. Bought it when I lived in Georgia, so it was a no brainer. When I ride here in CO, I often find myself freezing my gnarlies off.

I would buy another one, but I just steal my wife's textile jacket when it gets chilly. :D

A variety of good gear is NEVER overkill. I have a perforated Vanson jacket, Rocket textile, 1pc Teknic (track), 2pc Alpinestars (street), etc...

Invest in versatile gear designed to handle all types of conditions - Teknic makes some really cool stuff this year that fits into that category.

I have a mesh jacket and a textile jacket - both with full (sleeved) removable liners. I say get the jacket - being relatively comfortable makes the ride that much more pleasureable. 8)

Yup got both too. Like everyone else said, you can never have too much gear. I almost always ryde with a thin windbraker and hankerchief (for the face) in my trunk just in case I get cold.
